Ashok Leyland has partnered with Drivn to offer customised financing, leasing and fleet ownership solutions for its electric trucks and buses. The initiative aims to reduce high upfront costs, simplify EV ownership and accelerate zero-emission commercial mobility across India. Both companies will combine Ashok Leyland’s EV technology with Drivn’s financial solutions to make electric commercial vehicles more accessible and financially viable for fleet operators.
MoRTH Mandates Automatic Load Covers for Tippers and Dumpers From April 2027
MoRTH has made automatic load covers mandatory for all tippers and dumpers from April 1, 2027. Electrical, hydraulic, mechanical or electro-mechanical systems will be permitted, along with audio-visual alerts for unsecured covers. The rule aims to reduce material spillage, dust pollution and improve road safety. Importantly, cover equipment will be excluded from vehicle height calculations, helping manufacturers maintain load-body capacity while managing added cost, weight and maintenance.
Porter Deploys 10,000th Electric Truck in Delhi, Targets 4X EV Growth in Five Years
Porter has deployed its 10,000th electric truck in Delhi, marking a major milestone in India’s electric freight sector. The company operates over 50,000 EVs monthly and plans to quadruple this figure within five years. Its digital platform has eliminated 185 crore km of empty runs, helping save over ₹1,000 crore in fuel imports. The milestone highlights Porter’s focus on cleaner, more efficient and technology-driven urban logistics.
Tata Hitachi Launches ‘The Mighty Mini’ ZAXIS 40U Mini Excavator
Tata Hitachi has launched the ZAXIS 40U “The Mighty Mini” in India, designed for construction and utility work in confined spaces. Powered by a 29.9 PS engine, it has an operating weight of 3,620–3,900 kg and supports attachments such as rockbreakers, augers and trenchers. The mini excavator also features Japanese technology, FOPS/TOPS-compliant canopy, LED lights, multifunctional monitor and safety features for efficient, versatile operations.

BLive Partners with Tata Motors to Deploy 1,000 Electric Mini Trucks
BLive has partnered with Tata Motors to deploy up to 1,000 Tata Ace Pro EVs across India in phases. The electric mini trucks will support e-commerce, FMCG, pharma, warehousing and logistics operations. Under BLive PRIME, franchise partners invest around ₹45 lakh, while BLive manages fleet operations, charging and maintenance. The partnership aims to accelerate last-mile cargo electrification and provide entrepreneurs opportunities in India’s growing EV logistics market.
Tata Motors CV Exports Jump 35% as Indonesia, Africa Offset West Asia Disruption
Tata Motors commercial vehicle exports grew 35% YoY in Q1 FY27 despite a two-month pause in Middle East shipments due to shipping disruptions. Indonesia emerged as a key growth market with a 70,000-unit Yodha and Ultra T.7 order, while over 3,000 vehicles were shipped in July. Stronger demand from SAARC and sub-Saharan Africa also supported growth. Overall CV sales rose 27% to 108,488 units.
DICV to Invest ₹4,000 Crore in Tamil Nadu to Expand BharatBenz Operations
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) plans to invest around ₹4,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, taking its total India investment beyond ₹14,500 crore and creating about 400 jobs. BharatBenz has crossed 2.2 lakh trucks and buses on Indian roads, with 92% product value localised. DICV’s Chennai facility supports manufacturing and R&D, while 420+ service touchpoints strengthen customer support. The company also exports vehicles and parts globally.
Eicher Opens 11th Regional Competence Development Centre in Murthal
Eicher Trucks and Buses has opened its 11th Regional Competence Development Centre at DCRUST, Murthal. Spread across 7,900 sq. ft., the facility will train around 150 engineering students annually and support technical staff across nearly 50 dealerships. Equipped with driveline models, engine sections, diagnostic labs and an inspection pit, the centre aims to provide practical, future-ready commercial vehicle training and strengthen technical skills in the mobility sector.

JCB India has introduced limited-period Independence Day finance offers, providing up to 90% loans on eligible 8–22 tonne excavators and up to 100% finance on select backhoe loaders. Customers can get their first EMI after 60 days, with loan tenure of up to five years. Interest rates may go up to 8.5% for excavators, while final approval and terms depend on the respective finance partner and applicable conditions.

Moong-Urad Procurement 2026: Last Date Extended, Urad Farmers to Get ₹600 Bonus Along with MSP
Madhya Pradesh has extended summer moong and urad procurement under PSS until August 20, 2026. Moong farmers must complete slot booking by August 10, with the government procuring up to 60% of eligible production. Eligible urad farmers will receive a ₹600 per quintal bonus over MSP. The state has also introduced hybrid fertilizer distribution to improve transparency, monitoring and timely availability for farmers.

Telangana Gets ₹353 Crore Fisheries Boost, Hi-Tech Fish Market to Come Up in Hyderabad
The Centre has approved ₹353.01 crore fisheries projects in Telangana under PMMSY, including ₹47.03 crore for a hi-tech wholesale fish market in Hyderabad. The Centre will provide ₹112.68 crore assistance. Mancherial will get a Murrel Cluster and Centre of Excellence. The package also includes hatcheries, aquaculture units, cold-chain facilities, transport vehicles and livelihood support for 4,970 traditional fishermen, aiming to boost production, infrastructure and incomes.
Rajasthan has revised PMFBY 2026 with major changes to reduce farmers’ insurance burden and improve claim settlement. The average premium rate has fallen from 9.63% to 1.19%, potentially saving farmers ₹335 crore. YES & TECH will improve crop assessment, while insurers must provide policies within seven days. Delayed claims will attract 12% annual interest, with penalties for survey delays, strengthening transparency and accountability in crop insurance.
CNH India Plans New Tractor Plant After 42% H1 Sales Growth
CNH India’s tractor sales rose 42% to 30,248 units in H1 2026, while exports grew 20% to 6,666 units. The company plans a new plant near Greater Noida, expected to nearly double production capacity to 1.2 lakh tractors annually by 2028. A 25–30 HP compact tractor is also planned for 2028. CNH targets double-digit market share through a wider product range and expanding dealer network.

The announcement comes after strong Q4 FY26 performance, with net profit rising 17.1% to ₹320.53 crore and revenue growing 21.4% to ₹2,968.16 crore. With nearly eight decades of manufacturing experience, the company continues to strengthen its presence in agricultural mechanisation and construction.
NCDC Amendment Bill: Farmers May Get Easier Access to Loans and Financial Support
The NCDC Amendment Bill proposes wider financial powers for the National Cooperative Development Corporation, including direct loans, grants and investment in cooperative institutions.
