India Electric Bus Sales Fall 8.6% in September 2026; JBM Electric Vehicles Leads Market
India recorded 832 electric bus registrations in September 2026, down 8.6% from August’s 910 units. JBM Electric Vehicles led with 274 units and a 32.9% market share. PMI Electro Mobility ranked second with 141 units, recording 161.1% growth. Olectra Greentech secured third place with 129 units, despite a sharp 58.9% monthly decline.
India’s E-Rickshaw & E-Cart Sales Report - September 2026
India’s electric three-wheeler market showed mixed performance in September 2026. YC Electric led e-rickshaw sales with 948 units, followed by Zeniak Innovation and Hooghly Motors. Arrow Automotive recorded the highest e-rickshaw YoY growth at 85%. In the e-cart segment, J.S. Auto topped sales with 350 units, while Altier Electric Vehicles achieved the strongest YoY growth at 273%.
SWITCH Mobility to Set Up New EV Skill Centre in Hosur: Here’s What It Will Offer
SWITCH Mobility and Adhiyamaan College of Engineering have signed an MoU to establish an EV Skill Development Centre in Hosur. The centre will provide practical training in electric commercial vehicle technologies, batteries, charging infrastructure and power electronics. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements while developing skilled professionals for India’s growing electric mobility sector.
Olectra Greentech Appoints KC Vora as VP for Innovation and Strategic Partnerships
Olectra Greentech has appointed KC Vora as Vice President - Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, effective October 1, 2026. He will lead technology development, intellectual property management and fuel cell bus initiatives. Vora will also strengthen partnerships with SIAM, ACMA and testing agencies, including ARAI, ICAT, GARC and NATRAX, supporting Olectra’s innovation and clean-mobility goals.
Euler Motors Becomes India’s No. 2 Electric 4W Cargo Player, with ~25% market share
Euler Motors has become India’s second-largest electric four-wheeler cargo player, capturing nearly 25% market share and selling around 6,500 vehicles. Electric penetration in the segment rose from 1% to 5% within a year. Its ₹100 crore Palwal facility can produce 24,000 vehicles annually. Euler expects electric cargo vehicle penetration to reach 15-20%, driven by growing demand across smaller cities.
India’s commercial vehicle retail sales rose 37.62% year-on-year to 1,03,557 units in September 2026, marking 14.09% monthly growth. LCVs led with 62,398 units, while HCVs recorded the strongest growth at 46.22% YoY. Tata Motors topped the market with 35,931 units and a 34.70% share, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra at 26.73% and Ashok Leyland at 18.56%.
India’s three-wheeler retail sales rose 22.25% year-on-year to 1,32,570 units in September 2026. Passenger three-wheelers led with 80,023 units, while goods three-wheelers recorded the strongest growth at 63.48%. Bajaj Auto topped the market with 46,680 units and a 35.21% share, followed by Mahindra. Passenger e-rickshaw sales declined 13.35% year-on-year to 29,522 units.
BEML BH60-EV: India’s First Indigenous 60-Ton Electric Dump Truck Unveiled
BEML has unveiled the BH60-EV, India’s first indigenously developed 60-ton electric dump truck, at its Mysuru Complex. It offers a 54,500 kg payload, a 36.4 cubic metre body and a 1,000 kWh battery. Designed for mining and infrastructure operations, it can reduce operating costs by 40-60% compared with diesel equipment and cut around 130 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Desi Auto in London! Anand Mahindra Shares Mahindra Rickshaw Video From UK
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra shared a video on October 5 showing a Mahindra auto-rickshaw travelling through London. Imported into the UK by a hobbyist, the vehicle attracted attention online, with users joking about “reverse colonisation” and Indian auto culture. Mahindra’s international three-wheeler portfolio includes electric models such as the Treo passenger vehicle and Treo Zor cargo vehicle.
Youdha Rolls Out 1,000th ePod Electric Three-Wheeler, Targets Southern India Expansion
Youdha, the electric mobility brand of Zuperia Auto, has rolled out its 1,000th ePod electric three-wheeler on October 9, 2026. The company plans to expand its cargo and passenger vehicle portfolio, strengthen its dealer and service network, enter Southern India and explore international markets. CEO Ayush Lohia credited customers, dealers, financiers and employees for supporting this milestone.
E-Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana 2026: Get Up to 50% Subsidy on Farm Equipment, Apply by October 13
Madhya Pradesh farmers can apply for subsidies under the E-Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana 2026 from October 3 to 13. Eligible farmers can receive up to 50% subsidy, depending on category and equipment. An Agri-Stack Farmer ID, required documents and security deposit DD are mandatory. Applications will undergo lottery-based selection on October 14, 2026.
FADA Tractor Retail Market Share September 2026: Mahindra Group Leads as Sales Jump 13.7%
India’s tractor retail sales grew 13.75% year-on-year to 76,906 units in September 2026, compared with 67,612 units a year earlier. Mahindra Tractor Division led with a 23.70% market share, followed by Swaraj at 18.17%. Together, they captured 41.9% of the market. International Tractors Limited and John Deere recorded strong growth, while smaller manufacturers’ combined share declined to 5.59%.
Greater Noida Farmers to Get 64.7% Additional Compensation
The Uttar Pradesh government has approved 64.7% additional compensation for eligible farmers whose land was acquired or purchased in Greater Noida between 2002 and 2013. Around 4,500 farmers could benefit, with the estimated financial liability exceeding ₹500 crore. The Greater Noida Authority will verify land and compensation records before finalising eligible beneficiaries and releasing payments under applicable rules.
Electric Tractors Can Cut Farm Costs By 84%! ICCT Reveals Big Savings
An ICCT study across four Haryana districts found electric tractors use up to 78% less energy per acre than diesel models, reducing energy costs by up to 84% in rotavating. Electric tractors matched or outperformed diesel models in several tasks. However, limited battery endurance remains a challenge. ICCT recommends wider subsidies, charging infrastructure, battery swapping and stricter emission standards to boost adoption.
Rajasthan has 7.81 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer stock for the Rabi 2026-27 season, including 3.73 lakh tonnes of urea and 1.04 lakh tonnes of DAP. The state government will monitor district-wise supply according to demand and Central Government allocations. A team of 744 fertilizer inspectors will check black marketing, hoarding, illegal storage and forced sales to ensure timely fertilizer availability for farmers.
Kisan Credit Card: Haryana Farmers to Get ₹50,000 Accident Insurance for Just ₹0.63
Haryana’s KCC accident insurance scheme for 2026-27 will cover around 5 lakh eligible farmers, offering up to ₹50,000 for accidental death or total permanent disability. Farmers pay just ₹0.63 towards the annual ₹1.90 premium, with banks covering the remaining ₹1.27. Accidents must be reported to the bank or insurer within 120 days, along with the required documents.
