Volvo CE to Launch Localized Medium Wheel Loaders in India in 2027
Volvo CE plans to launch localized medium wheel loaders in India in 2027 after ending its SDLG joint venture. SDLG assembly and distribution will continue through 2026. The company is also expanding its focus on mining, infrastructure, compaction and electric equipment, including the 65-tonne EC650 excavator. Volvo CE expects growing demand from India’s mining, railway and urban infrastructure sectors.
SWITCH Mobility Secures 840 Electric Bus Order Under PM E-Drive for Delhi
SWITCH Mobility has secured an order for 840 electric buses under the PM E-Drive scheme for deployment across Delhi. The order includes 420 9-metre and 420 12-metre AC buses. Based on the EiV platform, the buses feature dual-gun fast charging, regenerative braking, battery safety systems, low-floor access and SWITCH iON fleet management technology for connected operations.
Ashok Leyland & IIT Madras Take Electric Trucks to 40 Cities: BOSS EV Drive Begins
Ashok Leyland and IIT Madras CoEZET have launched a 40-city electric truck awareness drive across 14 states and Delhi. Starting September 29, 2026, the GET ZET programme will run until February 2027, showcasing the BOSS Electric truck and charging solutions. Trial rides and demonstrations will help fleet owners, drivers and industry stakeholders understand electric truck technology and address adoption concerns.
JCB India Takes on Farm Logistics with Agrimax, Bridging the Gap Between Tractors and Backhoes
JCB is targeting India’s 18,000-20,000-unit farm material-handling market with its Agrimax multi-utility machine, which currently sells around 100 units monthly. The factory-built machine offers 4-metre dump height, multiple attachments, financing, insurance, a four-year warranty and telematics. JCB is also expanding its mini excavator range and developing electric and hydrogen technologies for different operating environments.
JCB Invests £100 Million in UK and Opens $1 Billion Texas Factory After Hydrogen Speed Record
JCB is investing £100 million in its Staffordshire headquarters and opening a $1 billion factory in Texas, creating 1,500 jobs. Mahindra CV Sales Jump 18% to 46,763 Units in September 2026, 3-Wheelers Lead Growth
Mahindra’s domestic CV and 3W sales grew 18% YoY to 46,763 units in September 2026. LCV below 2T sales increased 19% to 4,044 units, while 2T–3.5T LCVs rose 13% to 26,376 units. Three-wheeler sales jumped 26% to 16,343 units. However, exports declined 7% to 4,019 units, making domestic demand the key growth driver.
VECV Sales September 2026: Eicher CV Sales Jump 51.6%, Total Sales Near 50% Growth
VECV recorded 11,396 commercial vehicle sales in September 2026, up 49.6% YoY. Eicher Trucks and Buses grew 51.6% to 11,146 units, while domestic sales jumped 57.5% to 10,479 units. SCV/LMD truck sales rose 62% to 6,156 units. However, exports declined 4.7% and Volvo Trucks and Buses sales fell 6.4% during the month.
Ashok Leyland September 2026 Sales: 21,105 CVs Sold, Up 30.17% YoY
Ashok Leyland sold 21,105 commercial vehicles in September 2026, up 30.17% YoY. Domestic sales grew 29.31% to 20,135 units, while exports jumped 51.33% to 970 units. Combined M&HCV sales increased 44% to 13,244 units, while LCV sales rose 12% to 7,861 units, making M&HCVs the key driver of overall growth.
Tata Motors CV Sales Jump 42.4% in September 2026
Tata Motors recorded 51,062 CV sales in September 2026, up 42.4% YoY. Domestic sales rose 31.2% to 43,487 units, while exports surged 179.1% to 7,575 units. Passenger Carriers posted the highest domestic growth at 55.3%, followed by HCV trucks at 43.6%, ILMCV trucks at 31.7%, and SCV Cargo & Pickups at 17%.
Cygnus Motors OORJA EV Electric Tractor Sets World Record at Umling La
Cygnus Motors OORJA EV electric tractor completed a 3,200-km journey from Rajkot to Umling La in 16 days, reaching 19,024 feet. The ‘Electrifying Himalayas’ expedition tested the tractor across plains, steep mountain roads and extreme conditions. CCS2 charging and Power Swap LVDC supported the journey, while battery and motor performance were monitored to gather real-world data for future electric tractor development.
New Holland 3230 TX Tractor Launched in Chhattisgarh at ₹6.59 Lakh
New Holland has launched the 3230 TX in Chhattisgarh with a 42 HP engine, available in 2WD and 4WD variants. It offers up to 2,000 kg hydraulic lift capacity, XTRA Torque and multiple PTO options. Priced from ₹6,59,999 under the offer, customers can save up to ₹1.25 lakh, while 270 buyers also won prizes in the launch lucky draw.
BikeWo, Moonrider Join Hands to Deploy Electric Tractors in New Markets
BikeWo Green Tech and Moonrider have signed an MoU to explore electric tractor deployments across agriculture, industries, warehouses, airports and ports. BikeWo will evaluate fleet deployment, leasing and operations support, while both companies will assess pilot projects and commercial models. Specific purchases or leasing arrangements will depend on customer requirements and separate definitive agreements.
Escorts Kubota Tractor Sales Fall 16.7% in September 2026; YTD Sales Rise 10%
Escorts Kubota sold 15,214 tractors in September 2026, down 16.7% YoY, with domestic sales falling 16.2% and exports 34.7%. Despite the monthly decline, April-September sales rose 10% to 70,879 units, supported by domestic growth. High base, weak monsoon and delayed festive demand impacted September, while Navratri, Dussehra and harvesting could boost upcoming sales.
Mahindra Tractor Sales Fall 21% in September 2026, But YTD Sales Rise 7%
Mahindra & Swaraj sold 52,100 tractors in September 2026, down 21% YoY, with domestic sales falling 23% while exports rose 62%. However, April-September sales increased 7% to 2,74,068 units. A high base and festive demand shifting to October impacted September sales, while the upcoming festive season could support tractor demand.
VST Sales Rise 32.87% in September 2026, Power Tillers Lead Growth
VST Tillers Tractors sold 5,954 units in September 2026, up 32.87% YoY. Power tiller sales surged 50.57% to 4,520 units, while tractor sales fell 10.04% and power weeders grew 0.30%. From April-September 2026, total sales increased 10.15% to 35,660 units, driven by strong power tiller and power weeder demand.
Sonalika Tractors Cross 1 Lakh YTD Sales in Just Six Months
Sonalika Tractors crossed 1 lakh tractor sales in just six months, from April to September 2026, marking a major milestone in its 30th anniversary year. The company also achieved record monthly production of 19,000 tractors at its Hoshiarpur plant. With a presence across 150+ countries, Sonalika aims to build on its growth during the festive season.
