Tata Motors and DIMO marked 65 years of partnership in Sri Lanka with the launch of 10 new commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses. The range covers Ultra smart trucks, Prima prime movers, and premium buses like LPO Magna and Ultra Prime, designed for logistics and passenger mobility. Supported by 15 service centres, extended warranty, and AMCs, this launch boosts Tata’s presence in Sri Lanka, catering to evolving infrastructure and transport needs with durable, efficient, and customer-focused solutions.
Piaggio Vehicles has partnered with Hinduja Leyland Finance to offer customised and affordable financing for its electric and ICE three-wheelers. The collaboration aims to simplify vehicle ownership for entrepreneurs, fleet operators, and small businesses, boosting last-mile mobility across India. With tailored loan solutions, the partnership will support income generation and expand access to Piaggio’s vehicles nationwide, reinforcing its leadership in the small commercial vehicle segment while meeting India’s growing transport and mobility needs.

Available in MAXX, PLUS, and HiRANGE variants, it offers 130–200+ km real-world range, a 9 kW motor, lithium-ion batteries, and 3.25-hour fast charging. Features include hill-assist, GPS, real-time diagnostics, and a 6-year warranty. Kinetic Green Partners with IIFL Samasta Finance to Expand EV Adoption in India
Kinetic Green has signed an MoU with IIFL Samasta Finance to offer affordable financing for its electric two- and three-wheelers, including E-Luna, E-Zulu, and Safar series. Launching in September 2025, the programme will cover 370 branches across 13 states and target over 2 lakh pre-qualified customers. This partnership aims to boost EV adoption in urban, semi-urban, and rural markets, making electric mobility more accessible, supporting sustainability, and promoting economic empowerment across India.
Switch Mobility Begins Delivery of EiV12 Electric Buses to Delhi Transport Department
Switch Mobility has delivered the first batch of EiV12 electric buses to Delhi under the CESL tender for 950 buses. These 39-seater low-floor buses feature wheelchair ramps, safety systems, and Switch iON telematics for smart fleet management. Built with LFP batteries, they ensure stability, efficiency, and faster charging. The deployment supports Delhi’s goal of building India’s largest EV bus fleet, reducing emissions, and enhancing commuter comfort, marking a significant step toward modern, eco-friendly, and reliable public transport in the capital.
Tata Motors Launches Premium 9-Seater Winger Plus at ₹20.60 Lakh for Staff and Tourism Transport
Tata Motors has launched the Tata Winger Plus 9-seater at ₹20.60 lakh, powered by a 2.2L Dicor diesel engine with 100 hp. Designed for staff transport and tourism, it offers reclining seats, USB ports, individual AC vents, and ample luggage space. The Fleet Edge platform enables real-time tracking and diagnostics, while Sampoorna Seva 2.0 ensures service across 4,500+ touchpoints. Combining comfort, technology, and efficiency, the Winger Plus provides a premium passenger experience and cost-effective fleet management for operators.
GST 2.0 could cut commercial vehicle (CV) tax from 28% to 18%, benefiting small fleet owners and first-time buyers. The reform will remove the chassis-body tax difference, simplify purchases, and boost CV sales in FY26. Ashok Leyland expects increased demand, especially among small operators, while larger fleets may see indirect effects. This tax reduction could add 0.2% to India’s GDP, lower working capital needs, and strengthen the transport sector, making vehicle ownership more affordable and supporting long-term industry growth.
Case IH has launched the Steiger 785 Quadtrac, its most powerful tractor with 853 HP and 40% more torque, offering enhanced efficiency for heavy fieldwork. It features subscription-free precision technology, Connectivity Included, and advanced automation like AccuTurn Pro and AccuSync. Optional heavy-duty undercarriage improves traction and comfort, while SCR-only emissions and a three-year warranty ensure reliability. Bookings start September 1, though it is not yet available in India. The tractor sets a new benchmark for modern, high-performance farming worldwide.
Escorts Kubota Expands MU Tractor Series with MU4201 Launch and Upgrades to MU4501 & MU5502
Escorts Kubota has launched the MU4201 in the 41–44 HP segment, bringing premium features from higher HP models like flat deck, suspended pedals, and dual clutch. Upgrades to MU4501 and MU5502 include advanced Pompa Lift hydraulics, lifting 1,640–2,100 kg for heavy-duty implements. Designed for versatility in ploughing, tilling, and haulage, these tractors target farmers upgrading from 35 HP models. Focusing on key states, the launches strengthen Kubota’s presence in India’s 41–50 HP market, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and operational ease.
Delhi High Court Relaxes Biostimulant Rules, Farmers to Benefit
The Delhi High Court has allowed biostimulant companies to continue operations under FCO rules, providing relief to pending and approved applications while rejected ones remain barred. New NABL testing applies only to future applications. This ensures farmers receive an uninterrupted supply of biostimulants at stable prices, supporting crop growth and productivity. Companies must comply with document submission timelines, while the decision benefits both industry and farmers, maintaining availability, affordability, and quality of biostimulants, thereby promoting agricultural efficiency and sustainable farming practices across India.
Swaraj Tractors Achieves 25 Lakh Production Milestone
Swaraj Tractors has reached the 25 lakh production milestone from its Mohali plant, marking over five decades of growth since the 1974 launch of the Swaraj 724. Offering tractors from 25 HP to 90 HP, including popular models like the 855, 735, 744, and Naya Swaraj series, the brand focuses on durability, fuel efficiency, and farmer-friendly design. With strong manufacturing, precision engineering, and a philosophy centered on farmers’ needs, Swaraj continues to drive India’s farm mechanization while maintaining trust and innovation in agricultural machinery.
Subsidy of up to ₹60,000 Available on Power Weeder, Apply Now
Farmers in Madhya Pradesh can now avail subsidies of up to ₹60,000 on power weeders under the Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana. The scheme benefits small, marginal, SC/ST, and women farmers, while general farmers get up to ₹40,000. Applications are accepted online via the e-Krishi Yantra Anudan Portal, with beneficiaries selected through a lottery. Subsidy covers modern power weeders for weeding, tilling, and soil preparation, helping farmers adopt mechanized agriculture, reduce labor, and improve efficiency in small and medium-sized fields.
This week highlighted major strides in India’s commercial vehicle, electric mobility, and agriculture sectors. From Tata and Euler’s EV expansions to GST 2.0 reforms, new tractor launches, and subsidies for farmers, the developments signal growth, innovation, and support for efficiency, sustainability, and enhanced mobility across the country.
