Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, in collaboration with its long-standing distributor DIMO, has launched 10 new commercial vehicles in Sri Lanka. The launch not only strengthens Tata Motors presence in the country but also commemorates 65 years of trusted partnership with DIMO, built on shared growth, innovation, and customer excellence.

Wide Range of Cargo and Passenger Vehicles

The new line-up includes both cargo and passenger mobility solutions designed to meet Sri Lanka’s growing logistics, infrastructure, and transport requirements.

  • Cargo Mobility Solutions

    • Ultra Range (T.7, T.9, T.12, T.14, 1918.T): Built on Tata Motors next-generation smart truck platform, these trucks are tailored for intra-city logistics and last-mile delivery with high fuel efficiency, performance, and maneuverability.

    • Prima 5530.S & Signa 5530.S: Heavy-duty prime movers equipped with advanced technology for long-haul operations. They focus on safety, fuel efficiency, and productivity, making them suitable for demanding logistics and infrastructure needs.

  • Passenger Mobility Solutions

    • LPO 1622 Magna: A premium inter-city bus designed for long-distance travel with advanced safety features such as Electronic Stability Control and air suspension, ensuring passenger comfort and reduced operating costs.

    • Ultra Prime LPO 8.6 & 11.6: Staff transport buses with seating capacity for 34 and 40 passengers, offering high fuel efficiency, ergonomic seating, safety, and reliable daily performance.

Customer-Centric Services

To support customers and fleet operators, the new vehicles are backed by:

  • 15 strategically located service centres across Sri Lanka, ensuring timely maintenance and access to genuine spares.

  • Extended warranty coverage of up to 3 years or 300,000 km on select models.

  • Customised Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) to ensure long-term cost efficiency and sustained performance.

Leadership Statements

Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors, highlighted that the new vehicles are tailored to meet Sri Lanka’s infrastructure and mobility needs, delivering durability, performance, and lower total cost of ownership. He added that this enhanced portfolio will empower customers with greater efficiency and profitability.

Ranjith Pandithage, Chairman of DIMO, emphasised the partnership’s role in shaping Sri Lanka’s transport ecosystem. He said the new range combines world-class engineering with solutions designed for local requirements, supported by DIMO’s unmatched after-sales expertise.

With this launch, Tata Motors continues to expand its global footprint. The company’s commercial vehicles are sold in more than 40 countries, ranging from sub-1-tonne mini-trucks to 71-seater buses. Backed by over seven decades of expertise in commercial mobility, Tata Motors remains committed to delivering durable, efficient, and innovative transport solutions worldwide.
