The agreement includes financing, maintenance, and charging infrastructure to make fleet electrification easier for operators. Initial deployment will focus on luxury intercity coaches, with future expansion into school, employee, and airport transport. JBM aims to strengthen its leadership in India's growing electric bus market through this integrated mobility solution.
Ashok Leyland Wins ₹222.65 Crore Arbitration Award Against DTC
Ashok Leyland has secured a ₹222.65 crore arbitral award against Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in a long-running bus supply contract dispute. The tribunal also granted 10% annual interest and ₹2.96 crore in legal costs while rejecting DTC's ₹136 crore counterclaim. The company is reviewing the final financial impact and evaluating options for the remaining portion of its original claim.
Tata Motors and UCO Bank Join Hands to Make Commercial Vehicle Loans Easier Across India
Tata Motors has partnered with UCO Bank to offer easier financing for commercial vehicle buyers across India. The MoU provides lower interest rates, faster loan approvals, simplified documentation, high LTV funding, and flexible repayment options. The initiative will expand financing in urban and rural markets, supporting buyers across Tata Motors' commercial vehicle portfolio from sub-1-tonne cargo vehicles to 55-tonne trucks and buses.
Euler Motors reported a positive net worth of ₹421.30 crore in FY26, driven by fresh funding and accounting changes. Revenue more than doubled to ₹432.96 crore, while Hero MotoCorp strengthened its support through a Series D investment. Despite a higher net loss of ₹314.75 crore, the company increased spending on R&D, marketing, manufacturing, and workforce expansion to fuel future growth.
Piaggio Launches Ape E-City SWAP in Puducherry, Expands EV Three-Wheeler Network
Piaggio Vehicles has launched the Ape E-City SWAP electric three-wheeler in Puducherry at ₹2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Equipped with battery-swapping technology, a 110 km range, 7.4 kW power, 32 Nm torque, and 4G telematics, it is designed for efficient urban transport. The company also launched the 'EV Everywhere' fleet service with 20 vehicles, aiming to boost zero-emission last-mile mobility in partnership with Indofast Energy.
Ashok Leyland Expands Assam Network with Two New M&HCV Dealerships in Dibrugarh and Bongaigaon
Ashok Leyland has expanded its Assam network by opening two new M&HCV dealerships in Dibrugarh and Bongaigaon, increasing its state-wide touchpoints to 26. Developed with Bimal Auto Commercial, both 3S facilities offer sales, service, spares, modern workshops, and genuine parts. The dealerships will retail Ashok Leyland's full range of trucks, tippers, buses, and intermediate commercial vehicles.
The Madhya Pradesh government is offering a subsidy of up to ₹5 lakh on Paddy Transplanter Machines to promote mechanised farming. The machine cuts transplanting costs by over 50%, reduces labour dependency, ensures uniform planting, and improves crop growth and yield. Eligible farmers can apply online through the Agricultural Engineering Department portal to avail the subsidy and adopt modern paddy cultivation practices.
The Madhya Pradesh government has released the 38th Ladli Behna Yojana installment, transferring ₹1,875 crore to 1.25 crore eligible women, two days ahead of schedule. Beneficiaries can check payment status and the final list online through the official portal. During the event, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav also inaugurated nearly 40 projects worth ₹238.96 crore and announced 16 new projects valued at ₹83.33 crore.
SIAM has urged the government to increase import duty on commercial tractors and prime movers from 10% to 40% to curb low-cost CBU imports, particularly from China. The proposal covers both BCD and AIDC and aims to protect domestic EV and ICE manufacturers, encourage local production, attract investments, and strengthen India's commercial vehicle manufacturing ecosystem.
Farmers can register for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for Kharif 2026 from July 12 to July 31, 2026. The scheme covers 11 notified crops and protects against prevented sowing, crop failure, localized calamities, and post-harvest losses. Both loanee and non-loanee farmers are eligible, while crop damage must be reported within 72 hours to claim insurance benefits.
Zetor Shifts Tractor Production to India, Ends 80 Years of Manufacturing in Czech Republic
Zetor will end tractor production at its Brno, Czech Republic, plant after 80 years and shift manufacturing primarily to India, while considering China to reduce costs. Brno will remain the company's global headquarters, R&D, and spare parts hub, with around 33 jobs affected. Through its VST partnership, Zetor plans two new India-built tractor ranges, including one for the European market in 2027.
KisanKraft Launches Electric Farm Equipment for Small Farmers, Claims Over 90% Lower Energy Costs
KisanKraft has launched the E-Inter-cultivator and E-Self Propelled Reaper, marking its entry into India's electric farm equipment market. The company claims over 90% lower energy costs than petrol machines, with up to 4 hours of operation and 1-acre-per-hour coverage. Featuring removable LFP batteries, IP67-rated motors, and smart controllers, the machines are available through KisanKraft's network of over 5,000 dealers nationwide.
The Haryana government has released ₹107 crore under PMAY-G as the first DBT installment to 20,165 rural beneficiaries for permanent house construction. So far, ₹827.22 crore has been disbursed under the scheme, with 76,466 houses approved, 41,260 completed, and 35,206 currently under construction, strengthening rural housing across the state.
A farmer in Chhattisgarh received a ₹4 lakh subsidy under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme, reducing the cost of a ₹9.40 lakh tractor to ₹5.40 lakh. During a Sushasan Tihar camp, 572 of 575 applications were resolved. The scheme also offers subsidies on farm implements like rotavators, cultivators, threshers, seed drills, and power tillers.
The Madhya Pradesh government is offering up to 55% subsidy on drip, sprinkler, and mini sprinkler systems under PMKSY, RKVY, and Dhanya Krishi Yojana. Eligible farmers from selected districts can apply online through the e-Krishi Yantra Anudan Portal until July 13, 2026. An Agri-Stack Farmer ID is mandatory to avail the subsidy, which aims to promote water-efficient irrigation and improve crop productivity.
