Piaggio Vehicles has expanded its electric mobility footprint by launching the Ape E-City SWAP in the Puducherry market. The company has introduced its swappable battery-powered commercial three-wheeler at an ex-showroom price of ₹2.65 lakh in the Union Territory.
With this launch, Piaggio aims to strengthen its regional presence while promoting zero-emission last-mile mobility solutions. The rollout is part of the company's strategy to expand electric commercial vehicle adoption through regional supply chain partnerships and advanced battery-swapping infrastructure.
A major highlight of the Ape E-City SWAP is its battery swapping architecture, developed in partnership with Indofast Energy. Instead of waiting for the battery to recharge, drivers can quickly replace the depleted lithium-ion battery pack at designated swapping stations.
This battery exchange system significantly reduces vehicle downtime, allowing commercial operators to spend more time on the road and improve daily productivity.

Alongside the vehicle launch, Piaggio's authorized dealer M/s Future Automobiles has introduced a localized fleet service called 'EV Everywhere' in Puducherry.
The rental-based mobility service has begun operations with an initial fleet of 20 Apé E-City SWAP three-wheelers, targeting urban passenger transport requirements. The initiative is expected to support electric mobility adoption while providing operators with access to battery-swapping technology and efficient fleet services.
The introduction of the Ape E-City SWAP marks another step in Piaggio's efforts to expand electric commercial mobility across regional markets. By combining battery-swapping technology, connected vehicle features, and localized fleet services, the company aims to offer a practical solution for commercial operators seeking lower downtime and improved operational efficiency.
