Farmers in Madhya Pradesh have a great opportunity to adopt modern irrigation systems with financial assistance from the state government. The Agriculture Department has started online applications for subsidies on drip irrigation systems, sprinkler sets, and mini sprinklers through the e-Krishi Yantra Anudan Portal.
The application process is open until July 13, 2026. The subsidy is being provided under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY-Micro Irrigation), Dhanya Krishi Yojana, and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Pressurized Irrigation Project. The initiative aims to help farmers save water, reduce irrigation costs, and improve crop productivity through modern irrigation technology.
Eligible farmers can apply for financial assistance on the following irrigation equipment:
Drip Irrigation System
Sprinkler Set
Mini Sprinkler
These irrigation systems use water more efficiently, allowing farmers to irrigate larger areas with less water. Apart from conserving water, they also help improve crop growth and increase overall farm productivity.
The Agriculture Department has announced different subsidy rates based on the scheme and farmer eligibility.
Farmers covered under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY-Micro Irrigation) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY-MI) can receive up to 55% subsidy.
Other eligible farmers can receive up to 45% subsidy according to the prescribed government guidelines.
Farmers can also use the department's official subsidy calculator to estimate the subsidy amount based on their landholding category and the cost of the selected irrigation equipment.
The Agriculture Department has fixed separate district-wise targets under different schemes.

Modern irrigation systems provide several benefits, including:
Significant water conservation
Reduced irrigation costs
Better water distribution to crops
Improved crop yield and productivity
Efficient use of available water resources
Lower wastage of water during irrigation
These systems are especially useful in areas facing water shortages and help farmers achieve better returns with lower input costs.
Farmers interested in installing drip irrigation systems, sprinkler sets, or mini sprinklers should complete their online application before July 13, 2026. With subsidies of up to 55%, the scheme offers an excellent opportunity to adopt water-saving irrigation technology, reduce farming expenses, and improve agricultural productivity.
The Madhya Pradesh government's irrigation subsidy scheme is a major step toward promoting water-efficient farming across the state. By offering financial assistance of up to 55% for drip, sprinkler, and mini sprinkler systems, the government aims to encourage modern irrigation practices while reducing water consumption and increasing crop production. Eligible farmers from the selected districts should ensure they have the required documents, including an Agri-Stack Farmer ID, and submit their applications before the deadline to take full advantage of the scheme.
