Montra Electric Launches Rhino 5538 EV 4x2 TT and India’s First Automated Battery Plant
Montra Electric has launched the Rhino 5538 EV 4x2 TT truck priced at ₹1.15 crore, featuring a 282 kWh battery, 380 HP power, and a 198 km range. It also introduced India’s first all-women monitored automated battery plant and a battery swap system enabling replacements in under six minutes. These innovations aim to reduce downtime, boost efficiency, and promote sustainable freight mobility across India.
Omega Seiki Mobility Launches Swayamgati, World’s First Autonomous Electric Three-Wheeler
Omega Seiki Mobility has launched Swayamgati, the world’s first production-ready autonomous electric three-wheeler. Priced at ₹4 lakh for the passenger and ₹4.15 lakh for the cargo variant, it offers a 120 km range. OSM plans to produce 1,500 units in 24 months. Designed for Indian roads, it uses AI, Lidar, and GPS for safe navigation, making it ideal for airports, campuses, and smart cities while promoting sustainable and affordable mobility.
Tata Motors Demerger Begins October 1: Shareholder Benefits, New Leadership, and Listing Plans
Tata Motors’ demerger took effect on October 1, 2025, creating two listed entities — Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (TMLCV) and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV), which includes EVs and JLR. Shareholders will receive a 1:1 entitlement in both companies, with TMLCV set to list in November. Girish Wagh will lead TMLCV, Shailesh Chandra TMPV, and PB Balaji JLR. The move aims to boost agility, focus, and long-term value creation for shareholders and stakeholders alike.
Mahindra & Mahindra reported strong growth in September 2025, with domestic commercial vehicle sales rising 21% to 39,745 units and exports up 43% to 4,320 units. The LCV 2T–3.5T segment grew 21%, while 3-wheeler sales surged 30% to 13,017 units. With continued focus on electric mobility and innovation, Mahindra strengthens its leadership in the CV market.
Tata Motors achieved 35,862 commercial vehicle sales in September 2025, marking 19% YoY growth. Domestic sales rose 16% to 33,148 units, while exports surged 94% to 2,714 units. SCV Cargo and Pickup led with 30% growth, and ILMCV trucks grew 13%. Strong domestic demand and export performance reinforce Tata Motors’ dominance in the commercial vehicle market.
Ashok Leyland sold 16,213 commercial vehicles in September 2025, achieving 9.54% YoY growth. Domestic sales rose 9.31% to 15,572 units, driven by 15% LCV growth and 5% M&HCV growth. Exports increased 15.40% to 641 units, with M&HCV exports surging 50%. Strong domestic demand, especially for LCVs, continues to boost Ashok Leyland’s market presence and growth momentum in the commercial vehicle sector.
VE Commercial Vehicles Sold 6,559 Units in September 2025
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) sold 6,559 units in September 2025, up 4.7% YoY. Eicher sales rose 5.27% to 6,292 units, driven by 3% domestic growth and 37.7% export surge. Volvo sales dipped 7% to 267 units. Strong demand for Eicher’s light and medium-duty trucks and growing export momentum helped VECV maintain steady performance in both domestic and international commercial vehicle markets.
SML Isuzu September 2025 Sales Decline by 10%, Half-Year Performance Up 7%
SML Isuzu sold 950 units in September 2025, down 10% YoY, with cargo and passenger vehicle sales declining 9% and 10%, respectively. However, April–September 2025 sales rose 7% to 8,145 units, driven by a 29% growth in cargo vehicles. Despite weak September performance, SML Isuzu maintained steady growth and demand in the commercial vehicle market.
OEM Wise Electric Bus Sales Report for September 2025
India’s electric bus sales declined 12% month-on-month to 343 units in September 2025. Olectra Greentech led with 143 units and 41.7% share, while PMI Electro Mobility grew 47% to 85 units. Switch Mobility ranked third with 70 units. JBM Electric saw slight growth, whereas Tata Motors and JBM Auto recorded steep declines. Despite the slowdown, Olectra and PMI sustained market momentum.
Electric Three-Wheeler Goods Sales: September 2025 Trends by OEM
India’s electric 3W goods market saw mixed results in September 2025. Mahindra Last Mile Mobility led with 477 units, up 9.2% MoM. Omega Seiki grew 53.6% YoY and 42.1% MoM, while Green Evolve surged 130% YoY and 80.4% MoM. Bajaj Auto and Euler Motors saw slight declines, and Piaggio Vehicles dropped sharply. Emerging players showed strong momentum, reshaping the competitive landscape.
75% Subsidy on Tractors for Women Farmers: Farming Made Easier
The government’s SMAM scheme offers a 75% subsidy on tractors and farm equipment, enabling women farmers in Palamu, Jharkhand, to buy ₹5 lakh worth machinery for just ₹1.29 lakh. This reduces farming costs, saves time, and boosts productivity. The initiative empowers rural women financially, promotes modern farming, and supports self-reliance, helping small farmer groups increase efficiency, crop yield, and income while fostering employment in rural areas.
Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL) achieved record tractor sales in September 2025, selling 18,267 units, up 47.6% YoY. Domestic sales rose 48.5% and exports by 17.5%. Q2 FY26 sales reached 33,877 units (+30.3%), while six-month FY26 sales totaled 64,458 tractors (+14.4%). Strong monsoon, festive demand, and GST cuts boosted growth. EKL expects continued momentum, reinforcing its leadership in India’s tractor market with Farmtrac, Powertrac, and Kubota brands.
Mahindra Tractors Sales Report September 2025: 64,946 Units Sold, 50% Growth
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business recorded robust tractor sales in September 2025, with 64,946 domestic units (+50%) and total sales of 66,111 units (+49%), including 1,165 exports (+10%). Year-to-date sales reached 2,57,025 units (+20%). Growth was driven by GST cuts, early Navratri, strong Kharif crops, increased sowing, and above-normal monsoon. Mahindra’s strong performance reinforces its market leadership and consistent domestic and international demand.
VST Tillers & Tractors September 2025 Sales Report: 3,480 Units Sold, 34.73% YoY Sales Growth
VST Tillers Tractors Ltd recorded strong September 2025 sales of 3,480 units, up 34.73% YoY, driven by power tillers (3,002 units, +42.27%). Tractor sales remained steady at 478 units (+1.06%). Year-to-date (April–September) sales reached 27,405 units (+37.55%), led by power tillers. The company’s focus on versatile and efficient farming equipment has strengthened its market presence, ensuring sustained growth in the Indian agricultural machinery sector.
Domestic Tractor Sales Rise to 1,46,180 Units in September 2025, Marking 45.39% YoY Growth
India’s tractor market surged in September 2025, with total domestic sales reaching 1,46,180 units, up 45.39% YoY. Mahindra & Mahindra led with 64,946 units, followed by TAFE with 27,530 units. Escorts Kubota, John Deere, and New Holland also saw strong growth, while Sonalika’s market share declined. Favorable monsoon, good kharif output, and pre-festive demand drove sales, highlighting robust rural demand and a positive outlook for the coming months.
Gromax Agri Equipment Launches 8 New Tractors with India’s First Sub-50 HP Cabin Model
Gromax Agri Equipment launched eight new tractors, including India’s first sub-50 HP factory-fitted cabin model under the Trakstar Kavach Series. The lineup, featuring AC and non-AC options, caters to diverse farming needs with fuel-efficient engines and ergonomic design. Festive offers and gifts are available across nine states. The launch, part of the “Sabse Sahi Chunaav” campaign, reinforces Gromax’s focus on comfort, performance, affordability, and empowering small and medium farmers.
