VECV Sales September 2026: Eicher CV Sales Jump 51.6%, Total Sales Near 50% Growth

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) recorded a strong sales performance in September 2026, with total commercial vehicle sales reaching 11,396 units, compared with 7,619 units in September 2025. This resulted in a 49.6% year-on-year (YoY) growth.

The company’s performance was mainly supported by strong domestic demand for Eicher trucks and buses. While exports and Volvo Trucks and Buses sales declined during the month, the sharp rise in domestic sales helped VECV deliver overall growth of nearly 50%.

Eicher Commercial Vehicle Sales Rise 51.6%

Eicher Trucks and Buses, including electric vehicles, sold 11,146 units in September 2026, up from 7,352 units in the same month last year. This represents a 51.6% YoY increase.

The growth was broad-based, with all four major domestic truck and bus categories recording double-digit growth.

Domestic Sales Grow 57.5%

VECV's domestic sales increased significantly to 10,479 units in September 2026, compared with 6,652 units in September 2025. This translates into a strong 57.5% growth.

The SCV/LMD truck segment below 18.5 tonnes was the largest contributor, with sales rising to 6,156 units from 3,801 units last year. The segment recorded 62.0% growth.

Meanwhile, Heavy Duty (HD) trucks of 18.5 tonnes and above recorded sales of 3,086 units, compared with 1,955 units in September 2025, marking 57.9% growth.

The bus business also witnessed healthy growth. LMD bus sales stood at 1,107 units, up from 801 units, resulting in 38.2% growth. HD bus sales increased to 130 units from 95 units, registering 36.8% growth.

VECV Export Sales Decline 4.7%

Unlike the domestic market, VECV's export business saw a modest decline in September 2026. Total exports stood at 667 units, compared with 700 units in September 2025, representing a 4.7% decline.

The SCV/LMD export segment reported 361 units, down from 423 units, a decline of 14.7%. Heavy-duty exports also fell to 100 units from 113 units, marking an 11.5% decline.

However, the bus export segment moved in the opposite direction. VECV exported 206 buses, compared with 164 units a year earlier, registering 25.6% growth.

Volvo Trucks and Buses Sales Fall 6.4%

The Volvo Trucks and Buses business recorded sales of 250 units in September 2026, compared with 267 units in September 2025. This resulted in a 6.4% YoY decline.

Despite the decline in Volvo vehicle sales and exports, the much stronger performance of Eicher's domestic commercial vehicle business drove VECV's overall numbers higher.

The combined performance of Eicher and Volvo businesses took VECV's total commercial vehicle sales to 11,396 units, up from 7,619 units a year earlier.

The biggest growth came from the domestic Eicher business, where sales increased by 57.5%. Within this, SCV/LMD trucks recorded the highest volume at 6,156 units, while HD trucks added another 3,086 units.

Overall, VECV's September 2026 sales indicate strong demand in the Indian commercial vehicle market, particularly across light, medium and heavy-duty Eicher trucks and buses. The company's 49.6% overall YoY growth came despite a decline in exports and Volvo Trucks and Buses sales.
