Ashok Leyland recorded strong commercial vehicle sales growth in September 2026, selling 21,105 CVs across domestic and export markets, compared with 16,213 units in September 2025. This marks a 30.17% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

The growth was supported by strong performance in both the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segments. Export sales also increased sharply during the month, with overall exports growing faster than domestic sales.

Ashok Leyland Domestic CV Sales Rise 29.31%

Ashok Leyland sold 20,135 commercial vehicles in the domestic market in September 2026, compared with 15,572 units in September 2025. This represents a 29.31% YoY growth, or an increase of 4,563 units.

The M&HCV segment was the biggest contributor to domestic sales, with 12,724 units sold. Sales increased 44% from 8,862 units a year earlier.

Meanwhile, Ashok Leyland's domestic LCV sales stood at 7,411 units, up 10% from 6,710 units in September 2025.

Export Sales Jump 51.33%

Ashok Leyland also reported strong growth in its export business. The company exported 970 commercial vehicles in September 2026, compared with 641 units in the same month last year. This resulted in a 51.33% YoY increase, with exports rising by 329 units.

Both major export categories recorded growth of more than 50%. M&HCV exports increased 50% to 520 units, from 346 units in September 2025, while LCV exports grew 52.54% to 450 units, compared with 295 units a year earlier.

Total Ashok Leyland CV Sales Reach 21,105 Units

When domestic and export sales are combined, Ashok Leyland sold 21,105 commercial vehicles in September 2026, up from 16,213 units in September 2025.

This translates into a 30.17% YoY growth, with the company selling 4,892 more CVs than in September last year.

The M&HCV segment remained the largest part of Ashok Leyland's overall CV sales, accounting for 13,244 units. This was a 44% increase from 9,208 units in September 2025.

The LCV segment also grew, with sales reaching 7,861 units compared with 7,005 units last year, registering 12% YoY growth.

M&HCV Segment Drives Overall Growth

The September 2026 sales data shows that M&HCV vehicles were the key contributor to Ashok Leyland's overall growth. Domestic M&HCV sales increased 44%, while exports in the same category rose 50%.

LCV sales also remained positive, growing 10% in the domestic market and 52.54% in exports. On a combined basis, LCV sales increased 12% to 7,861 units.

Another important highlight was the difference between domestic and export growth. Domestic CV sales grew 29.31%, while exports increased 51.33% during September 2026.
