Tata Motors CV Sales Jump 42.4% in September 2026
Tata Motors CV sales rose 42.4% to 51,062 units in September 2026, with domestic sales up 31.2% and exports surging 179.1% year-on-year.

Tata Motors reported a strong performance in its commercial vehicle (CV) business in September 2026, with total sales reaching 51,062 units, up 42.4% year-on-year (YoY) from 35,862 units in September 2025.
The growth was supported by higher sales across all major domestic CV categories, along with a sharp rise in exports. Domestic CV sales increased 31.2% to 43,487 units, while exports surged 179.1% to 7,575 units.

Tata Motors CV Sales September 2026: Key Numbers
The September performance shows broad-based growth across Tata Motors' commercial vehicle portfolio. Among domestic categories, Passenger Carriers recorded the highest YoY growth of 55.3%, followed by HCV trucks at 43.6%, ILMCV trucks at 31.7%, and SCV Cargo & Pickups at 17%.
The company also recorded a substantial increase in international sales, with exports almost tripling compared with the same month last year.
HCV Truck Sales Rise 43.6%
Tata Motors sold 14,171 HCV trucks in September 2026, compared with 9,870 units in September 2025. This represents a 43.6% YoY growth.
The performance reflects continued demand for heavy commercial vehicles across applications such as infrastructure, mining, construction and long-distance freight transportation.
ILMCV Truck Sales Grow 31.7%
Sales of Intermediate and Light Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCVs) stood at 7,990 units in September 2026, compared with 6,066 units in the corresponding month last year.
The category recorded a 31.7% YoY increase, supported by demand for regional transportation and distribution applications.
Passenger Carrier Sales Record Highest Domestic Growth
Tata Motors' Passenger Carrier segment recorded one of the strongest performances during the month. Sales increased to 4,816 units in September 2026 from 3,102 units in September 2025.
This translates into a 55.3% YoY growth, the highest growth rate among the company's major domestic CV categories. Demand from applications such as school buses, employee transportation and public transit contributed to the segment's performance.
SCV Cargo and Pickup Sales Increase 17%
The SCV Cargo and Pickup segment registered sales of 16,510 units in September 2026, compared with 14,110 units a year earlier.
The segment grew 17% YoY, with last-mile transportation, small-business logistics and e-commerce-related requirements supporting demand for small commercial vehicles.
Tata Motors CV Exports Surge 179.1%
Tata Motors' export performance saw a significant jump in September 2026. The company exported 7,575 commercial vehicles, compared with 2,714 units in September 2025.
This represents a massive 179.1% YoY growth and provided a major contribution to the company's overall September CV sales.

The sales data highlights that every major domestic CV category registered positive YoY growth in September 2026. Passenger Carriers led the growth rate, while SCV Cargo and Pickup remained the largest domestic category by volume among the segments listed, with 16,510 units.
The combined domestic and export performance lifted Tata Motors' total CV sales by more than 15,000 units compared with September 2025, indicating strong volume growth across both Indian and overseas markets.
