Department of Revenue and Disaster Management
This is the first time the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has also taken part in disbursing compensation, which earlier was done only by the Revenue Department.
Farmers from the following 17 districts received crop loss compensation:
Bhiwani
Charkhi Dadri
Gurugram
Hisar
Jhajjar
Jind
Kaithal
Karnal
Kurukshetra
Mahendragarh
Panipat
Rewari
Rohtak
Sirsa

Districts like Ambala, Mewat (Nuh), Palwal, Faridabad, and Panchkula were not included because no fire-related crop damage was reported there.

To further support the affected farmers, the Chief Minister announced that free seeds and fertilizers will be provided for the next sowing season. This benefit is aimed at those whose Rabi crops were destroyed due to fire.
He stated, “The farmer is the food provider of the nation. Our government is committed to the welfare and development of farmers. We will ensure they face no difficulty in continuing their work.”
To make the compensation process transparent and easy, the Haryana government has made the entire system online. The process is carried out through the e-Crop Compensation Portal, which is linked with the Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal.
Farmer files a crop loss claim online.
Revenue officials visit the field to verify the loss.
Verified reports are uploaded back to the portal.
Compensation is transferred directly to farmers accounts.
This portal was launched during the Rabi season of 2023 and is now being used for crop-burning cases too. As the system is online, it ensures faster assistance to farmers.
If any farmer’s crop was destroyed by fire and they haven’t yet submitted a claim, they still have the chance. The government has reopened the e-Crop Compensation Portal due to the high number of fire incidents during the Rabi season of 2025.
Submit their claims online as soon as possible.
Ensure proper details are filled for quick verification.
Coordinate with local revenue officials for spot verification.
The government has also instructed officials to speed up the on-ground inspection and report upload process.

With an easy-to-use online system and faster claim settlement, farmers are expected to get timely help and resume agricultural activities without delays.
