CNH, a global leader in agricultural and construction equipment, has previewed its first Made-in-India compact tractor from its Greater Noida plant. The launch highlights the company’s commitment to strengthening India as a hub for manufacturing, technology, and exports.
India is one of the fastest-growing markets for CNH. The company has announced its goal of doubling its tractor market share in the country under the New Holland brand within the next five years. This growth will be driven by a strong range of localized products, particularly compact tractors in the 30–50 HP category, designed to meet the specific needs of Indian farmers.
CNH has identified four major focus areas for its India operations:
Expanding localized manufacturing for domestic and global markets
Positioning India as a global technology and R&D hub
Growing market share with India-specific product offerings
Using Indian engineering expertise to deliver cost-effective solutions
Currently, CNH exports products manufactured in India to over 80 countries. The company operates three plants across India:
Greater Noida – tractors, harvesters, and more
Pune – construction equipment
Pithampur – compactors, loader backhoes, and excavators
In addition, CNH has a strong nationwide dealer network to support sales and service for its agricultural and construction machinery.
CNH’s India Technology Centre, located in Gurugram, employs over 700 engineers and is set to become the company’s largest global technology facility. Equipped with multi-vehicle simulators, advanced prototyping tools, and virtual/extended reality labs, the centre supports CNH’s global product pipeline with cutting-edge research and development.
Gerrit Marx, CEO of CNH, emphasized that “India is a cornerstone of our global growth strategy.”
Narinder Mittal, President and Managing Director, India, added that the company is investing heavily in manufacturing, technology, and sourcing in line with the government’s “Make in India” vision.
CNH Industrial, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, employs more than 35,000 people worldwide. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Case IH, New Holland Agriculture, Case and New Holland Construction Equipment, STEYR, Raven, Hemisphere, Flexi-Coil, Miller, and Eurocomach.
