Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited has officially launched the Mahindra UDO electric auto-rickshaw in India at an introductory price of ₹3,58,999, reduced from its standard ex-showroom price of ₹3,84,299. With this launch, Mahindra strengthens its position as India’s number one electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, as per Vahan data.
The new UDO has been designed especially for the fast-growing last-mile mobility segment, offering a stylish design, long driving range, and advanced features.
The name “UDO” comes from the Hindi word meaning “to fly.” Inspired by aviation design, the electric three-wheeler features an airplane-themed aesthetic and a modern look.
The vehicle is built using monocoque construction, which enhances strength and durability. Mahindra has focused on comfort as well, offering what it calls a pilot seat for the driver. This seat is nearly 20% thicker than those in competing vehicles, improving long working-hour comfort.
Passengers also benefit from extra legroom and headroom, making the ride more spacious and comfortable.
The Mahindra UDO comes with an IP67-rated 11.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that delivers a real-world driving range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge.
The electric motor produces:
10 kW peak power
52 Nm torque
Top speed of 55 km/h in Race mode
This setup makes the UDO suitable for both city commuting and commercial passenger operations.
To suit different driving needs, Mahindra has provided three driving modes:
Range Mode – Focuses on maximum efficiency
Ride Mode – Balanced performance
Race Mode – Higher performance with a top speed of 55 km/h
Additional smart features include:
Reverse throttle
Regenerative braking
Hill hold assist
Creep function for traffic situations
The suspension system includes independent rear suspension and dual fork front suspension, improving ride comfort and stability on uneven roads.
Mahindra is offering a warranty of 6 years or 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. Buyers also get free servicing up to 100,000 kilometers.
Under the UDAY NXT scheme, customers receive:
₹20 lakh accidental insurance coverage
Financial counselling services
These benefits aim to provide financial security and long-term support to drivers and fleet operators.
The UDO is produced at Mahindra’s upgraded manufacturing facility in Zaheerabad. The plant features automated battery assembly systems and robotized production lines, ensuring quality and efficiency in production.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, said that the launch of UDO reflects the company’s commitment to improving customer lives through the electrification of last-mile transportation while raising industry standards in the category.
India is currently the world’s largest three-wheeler electric vehicle market. Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, manufactures electric and conventional fuel-based three and four-wheeler vehicles for passenger and cargo applications.
With the launch of the Mahindra UDO electric auto-rickshaw, the company aims to offer better range, enhanced comfort, modern design, and strong financial support for drivers operating in India’s rapidly expanding EV ecosystem.
