Blue Energy Motors has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) under the Government of India’s PARIVARTAN Scheme to accelerate the adoption of cleaner commercial vehicles across Delhi-NCR. The initiative aims to replace ageing, high-emission trucks and buses with cleaner alternatives, helping reduce transport-related pollution and improve air quality.
Announced on October 22, 2026, the development marks another step towards cleaner freight transportation in India, with Blue Energy Motors looking to support the wider adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks for freight and logistics operations.
What Is the PARIVARTAN Scheme?
The Government of India’s PARIVARTAN Scheme aims to encourage the replacement of older commercial vehicles with cleaner alternatives across the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). By providing incentives for the transition, the initiative seeks to reduce emissions from road transport and support better air quality in the region.
The scheme is particularly relevant for freight and logistics operators who depend on heavy-duty trucks for moving goods. Replacing ageing, high-emission vehicles with cleaner technologies can help reduce the environmental impact of commercial transportation.
Through its participation, Blue Energy Motors aims to help fleet operators move towards zero-emission electric heavy-duty trucks. The initiative also brings together government policy support and vehicle technology to accelerate the transition to cleaner freight mobility.
Blue Energy Motors Highlights Commitment to Green Freight Mobility
Commenting on the development, Anirudh Bhuwalka, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Energy Motors, said that the PARIVARTAN Scheme is an important step towards accelerating the transition to cleaner freight mobility in India.
He highlighted that the company's participation reflects its commitment to supporting the government's vision for sustainable transportation and encouraging the wider adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks.
Bhuwalka also emphasised the importance of combining supportive government policies with advanced vehicle technology and a strong domestic manufacturing ecosystem. According to him, these factors can play a crucial role in accelerating India's transition towards zero-emission freight transportation.
Blue Energy Motors Crosses 150 Million Green Kilometres
Blue Energy Motors is working to advance green freight mobility through its electric and liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered heavy-duty truck solutions.
According to the company, more than 1,400 of its green heavy-duty trucks are operating across key freight routes in India. Together, these vehicles have covered over 150 million green kilometres on Indian roads.
The company estimates that this activity has helped reduce more than 44,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. This reduction is equivalent to the carbon absorption of approximately 1.8 million trees.
These figures highlight the company's ongoing efforts to promote cleaner freight transportation through alternative powertrain technologies. While electric trucks offer a zero-tailpipe-emission option, LNG-powered trucks provide another alternative to conventional diesel-powered vehicles.
Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks to Support Cleaner Logistics
Heavy-duty trucks play a major role in India's freight and logistics sector, making the transition to cleaner commercial vehicles an important part of reducing transport-related emissions.
Blue Energy Motors participation in the PARIVARTAN Scheme is aimed at supporting this transition by encouraging fleet operators to consider electric heavy-duty trucks. Government initiatives that promote the replacement of older vehicles can create opportunities for businesses to adopt cleaner technologies while contributing to improved environmental performance.
The initiative also highlights the importance of cooperation between the government and the commercial vehicle industry. Policy support, advanced vehicle technology and domestic manufacturing capabilities can work together to accelerate the adoption of cleaner freight solutions.
As India continues to strengthen its efforts towards sustainable commercial transportation, Blue Energy Motors aims to contribute through its electric heavy-duty truck technology and continued focus on green freight mobility.
