India's tractor retail market remained largely stable in August 2026, with total retail sales reaching 87,977 units, according to the latest data released by FADA Research. This was slightly higher than the 87,244 units retailed in August 2025, resulting in a marginal year-on-year growth of approximately 0.84%.

The latest tractor retail market share data shows that the Mahindra Group continued to dominate India's tractor market through its Mahindra Tractor Division and Swaraj Division. Meanwhile, International Tractors Limited, Escorts Kubota, John Deere and CNH Industrial strengthened their market positions during the month.

Overall Tractor Market Performance - August 2026

The Indian tractor retail market recorded a modest increase of 733 units in August 2026 compared to the same month last year. While the overall market remained almost flat, market share movements were visible among major tractor manufacturers. Mahindra Tractor Division, Swaraj Division, International Tractors Limited, Escorts Kubota, John Deere and CNH Industrial increased their retail sales and market share. On the other hand, TAFE Limited, Eicher Tractors and smaller manufacturers witnessed a decline in their market share compared to August 2025.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Performance - August 2026

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Tractor Division)

Mahindra Tractor Division continued to lead the Indian tractor retail market in August 2026. The company retailed 20,703 tractors, compared to 20,159 units in August 2025.

Its market share increased to 23.53% from 23.11%, helping Mahindra retain its position as India's largest tractor OEM.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Swaraj Division)

Swaraj Division maintained its second position in the Indian tractor market with retail sales of 15,914 units in August 2026.

The company improved its market share to 18.09%, compared to 17.68% in August 2025, reflecting stronger performance despite limited overall industry growth.

International Tractors Limited (ITL)

International Tractors Limited continued to hold the third position by retailing 11,818 tractors during August 2026, compared to 10,586 units in the previous year.

Its market share increased significantly from 12.13% to 13.43%, making ITL one of the major gainers in the August 2026 tractor retail market.

TAFE Limited

TAFE Limited retailed 10,780 tractors in August 2026, compared to 11,030 units in August 2025.

As a result, the company's market share declined slightly to 12.25% from 12.64%. However, TAFE continued to remain among India's leading tractor manufacturers.

Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group)

Escorts Kubota recorded a strong improvement in its market position during August 2026. The company retailed 9,756 tractors, compared to 8,666 units in August 2025.

Its market share increased sharply to 11.09% from 9.93%, making it one of the strongest market share gainers among major tractor OEMs.

John Deere India Pvt. Ltd.

John Deere India retailed 6,294 tractors in August 2026, up from 5,956 units during the same month last year.

The company's market share also improved from 6.83% to 7.15%, indicating positive retail growth during the month.

Eicher Tractors

Eicher Tractors recorded retail sales of 5,590 units in August 2026, compared to 6,059 units in August 2025.

The decline in sales resulted in its market share falling to 6.35% from 6.94%.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd.

CNH Industrial retailed 4,170 tractors in August 2026, compared to 3,934 units in August 2025.

The company's market share increased from 4.51% to 4.74%, showing an improvement in its overall position in the Indian tractor market.

Other Tractor Manufacturers

Smaller tractor manufacturers collectively retailed 2,952 units in August 2026 and accounted for 3.36% of the total market.

This was significantly lower than 5,426 units and a 6.22% market share recorded in August 2025. The decline highlights the growing dominance of leading tractor manufacturers in India's retail market.
