India's tractor retail market continued its strong momentum in July 2026, with total retail sales crossing 1.17 lakh units, according to the latest FADA Research data. Tractor retail sales reached 1,17,349 units, compared to 91,604 units in July 2025, registering healthy year-on-year growth of around 28%.

Strong rural demand, active agricultural operations, and increasing farm mechanisation continued to support tractor purchases across the country. The latest retail market share data also highlights that the Mahindra Group, through its Mahindra Tractor Division and Swaraj Division, continued to dominate the Indian tractor market.

Overall Tractor Market Performance – July 2026

The Indian tractor industry delivered another impressive month in July 2026 as retail sales increased by more than 25,700 units compared to the same month last year.

Most leading tractor manufacturers reported higher retail volumes, while market leadership remained largely unchanged. At the same time, leading OEMs continued strengthening their presence as the combined contribution of smaller manufacturers declined further.

Note: FADA stated that July 2026 tractor retail numbers for Telangana were not available. The retail data has been compiled as of 5 August 2026 from 1,465 out of 1,468 RTOs in collaboration with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Performance – July 2026

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Tractor Division)

Mahindra Tractor Division remained India's largest tractor OEM in July 2026 by retailing 26,863 tractors. The company increased its market share to 22.89%, compared to 22.51% in July 2025, reinforcing its leadership in the Indian tractor market.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Swaraj Division)

Swaraj Division continued to occupy the second position with 22,334 retail sales during July 2026. The brand improved its market share to 19.03%, up from 18.27% a year ago, reflecting strong demand in key agricultural markets.

International Tractors Limited (ITL)

International Tractors Limited retailed 15,991 tractors during the month. Although sales increased significantly over last year, its market share stood at 13.63%, slightly below the combined Mahindra brands but maintaining its position among India's top three tractor manufacturers.

TAFE Limited

TAFE recorded 14,178 tractor retail sales in July 2026. The company improved its market share to 12.08%, compared to 10.54% in July 2025, benefiting from higher retail demand.

Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group)

Escorts Kubota retailed 12,782 tractors during July 2026. Its market share improved to 10.89%, up from 10.05% last year, supported by strong retail growth.

John Deere India Pvt. Ltd.

John Deere India reported retail sales of 8,087 units in July 2026. While sales increased compared to last year, its market share eased to 6.89% from 7.63%, as the overall industry expanded at a faster pace.

Eicher Tractors

Eicher Tractors sold 7,910 units during the month. Despite higher sales volumes, its market share slipped marginally to 6.74%, compared to 6.90% in July 2025.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd.

CNH Industrial retailed 5,417 tractors in July 2026. The company improved its market share to 4.62%, up from 4.29% a year earlier, reflecting stronger retail performance.

Other Manufacturers

Smaller tractor manufacturers collectively retailed 3,787 units, accounting for 3.23% of the market. Their combined market share dropped significantly from 5.82% in July 2025, indicating that leading OEMs continued to strengthen their hold on the Indian tractor market.
