Tata Motors Launches LPO 1822 Intercity Bus Chassis with Advanced Comfort and Performance
Tata Motors has launched the LPO 1822 intercity bus chassis, featuring full-air suspension, a 5.6L Cummins engine (220 HP, 925 Nm), and flexible 36–50 seater or sleeper layouts. It includes a 4-year Fleet Edge subscription for smart diagnostics and is backed by Sampoorna Seva 2.0 with 4,500+ service points. The LPO 1822 combines comfort, technology, and efficiency for India’s growing intercity transport network.
EKA Mobility Secures ₹500 Crore from India-Japan Fund to Power New Electric Bus Plant in Pithampur
EKA Mobility has secured a ₹500 crore investment from the India-Japan Fund to build a new electric bus plant in Pithampur, boosting annual capacity from 2,500 to 8,000 buses. The company has 3,300+ orders and total funding of ₹1,050 crore. This investment strengthens India’s EV ecosystem, promotes green mobility, and expands EKA’s reach in domestic and global markets.
Blue Energy Motors launched India’s first heavy-duty electric truck with battery swapping technology and inaugurated the Mumbai-Pune Electric Highway. A new ₹3,500 crore plant will produce 30,000 trucks annually. With Energy-as-a-Service, reduced costs, and sustainable operations, this initiative supports Net Zero goals, green logistics, and Atmanirbhar Bharat, marking a major step toward India’s clean and connected transport future.
The Indian government will make Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) mandatory for electric cars, buses, and trucks from October 2027, activating automatically up to 20 kmph to improve pedestrian safety. Experts suggest including two and three-wheelers. With India’s EV market set to reach US$7.09 billion by 2025, AVAS aims to reduce accidents while the government may also drop the spare tyre rule for tubeless vehicles.

Priced at ₹4–4.5 lakh after subsidy, it is ideal for ploughing, rotavating, and transport, promoting environment-friendly, sustainable, and efficient farming for small and medium Indian farmers.
