Mahindra & Mahindra has appointed Attreyi Mukherjee as Vice President and Head Legal for its expanding Electric Vehicle (EV) Business. The move marks a key addition to Mahindra’s leadership team as the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing EV market.
Mukherjee brings more than two decades of legal experience to her new role. Before joining Mahindra & Mahindra, she served as General Counsel at Tata Industries, where she managed several high-level legal and compliance matters.
Earlier in her career, she worked as Legal Counsel at the Tata Group, gaining valuable experience in handling legal frameworks for large and complex business operations.
Attreyi Mukherjee is qualified to practice law in India as well as in England & Wales. Her legal expertise covers domestic and international mergers & acquisitions (M&As), joint ventures, and technology licensing.
Throughout her career, she has advised companies across diverse industries, including automotive, aviation, aerospace, e-commerce, edTech, digital health, fintech, life sciences, and consumer products. This wide-ranging experience gives her deep insight into managing complex legal structures for innovative and global businesses.
Speaking about her new role, Mukherjee said, “I am delighted to take on this role at Mahindra & Mahindra. The EV sector is a dynamic and exciting space. I look forward to contributing to its growth and exploring new opportunities in this field.”
Her strong background in cross-border deals and technology-driven legal strategies is expected to help Mahindra enhance its legal framework as the company continues to expand its EV portfolio in India and international markets.
With this appointment, Mahindra & Mahindra aims to further strengthen its legal and compliance operations within the electric mobility sector. Mukherjee’s extensive experience in managing technology-led businesses and global partnerships aligns with Mahindra’s vision to lead India’s sustainable mobility transition.
Her leadership is expected to play a vital role in supporting Mahindra’s ongoing EV projects, strategic alliances, and new-age technology initiatives.
