India’s domestic tractor market recorded strong wholesale growth from April to December 2025, supported by rising farm activity and improved rural demand. Total tractor sales reached 8,89,615 units, compared with 6,88,054 units in the same period last year, registering a 29.29% year-on-year growth. The overall market share stood at 100%, reflecting balanced demand across all regions.

Maharashtra emerged as the largest tractor market in the country. The state sold 1,23,205 units, up from 70,268 units last year. This translated into a sharp 75.34% growth. Its market share increased to 13.85% from 10.21%, making it the strongest contributor to overall growth.
Uttar Pradesh recorded sales of 1,22,849 units, compared with 1,05,425 units in the previous year. The state posted 16.53% growth. However, its market share declined to 13.81% from 15.32%, indicating slower growth compared to some other large states.
Madhya Pradesh sold 1,04,076 units, up from 94,630 units, showing 9.98% growth. Despite the increase in volumes, its market share reduced to 11.70% from 13.75%, reflecting relatively moderate demand growth.
Rajasthan reported tractor sales of 94,771 units, compared with 83,317 units last year. The state achieved 13.75% growth, while its market share eased to 10.65% from 12.11%.
Gujarat continued to show strong performance with 89,648 units sold, up from 65,628 units. This marked a solid 36.60% growth. The state’s market share improved to 10.08% from 9.54%, highlighting consistent demand.
Karnataka recorded sales of 50,576 units, compared with 39,533 units last year, registering 27.93% growth. Its market share stood at 5.69%, marginally lower than 5.75% in the previous year.
Haryana achieved 41,389 units, up from 35,450 units, posting 16.75% growth. However, its market share declined to 4.65% from 5.15%.
Chhattisgarh sold 40,990 units, compared with 35,249 units last year. The state recorded 16.29% growth, while market share slipped to 4.61% from 5.12%.
Punjab showed strong momentum with 39,032 units, up from 27,158 units. The state posted 43.72% growth, and its market share increased to 4.39% from 3.95%.
Telangana continued its upward trend with 33,488 units, compared with 21,284 units last year. It registered 57.34% growth, and market share improved to 3.76% from 3.09%.
Bihar reported 33,013 units, up from 25,281 units, delivering 30.58% growth. The market share improved slightly to 3.71% from 3.67%.
Andhra Pradesh sold 24,878 units, compared with 17,909 units last year. The state recorded 38.91% growth, and market share rose to 2.80% from 2.60%.
Tamil Nadu achieved sales of 21,292 units, up from 14,657 units, posting 45.27% growth. Its market share increased to 2.39% from 2.13%.
Odisha recorded 19,695 units, compared with 14,524 units last year. The state registered 35.60% growth, with market share improving to 2.21% from 2.11%.
West Bengal sold 18,297 units, up from 13,619 units, marking 34.35% growth. Market share increased to 2.06% from 1.98%.
Jharkhand delivered strong growth with 17,509 units, compared with 10,381 units last year. This represented 68.66% growth, and market share improved to 1.97% from 1.51%.
Assam sold 6,954 units, up from 6,535 units, recording 6.41% growth. Despite higher volumes, market share declined to 0.78% from 0.95%.
Jammu and Kashmir reported 2,740 units, slightly lower than 2,793 units last year, resulting in a 1.90% decline. Market share reduced to 0.31% from 0.41%.
Uttarakhand achieved 2,685 units, compared with 2,496 units, posting 7.57% growth. Market share eased to 0.30% from 0.36%.
Himachal Pradesh sold 1,992 units, up from 1,585 units, registering 25.68% growth, with a market share of 0.22%.
Kerala recorded 536 units, compared with 292 units last year. The state posted the highest growth rate of 83.56%, while market share improved to 0.06% from 0.04%.
The ‘Others’ category declined to zero units from 40 units in the previous year, with market share slipping to 0.00% from 0.01%.
Overall, tractor sales during April to December 2025 show broad-based growth across most states, led by Maharashtra and supported by strong performance in Gujarat, Telangana, Punjab, and several eastern states. The data indicates improving rural sentiment and rising adoption of farm mechanisation across India.
