The integrated system aims to improve operational coordination and reduce EV development timelines.
JSW Greentech has selected Siemens Xcelerator software to strengthen its commercial electric vehicle (EV) development and manufacturing operations in Maharashtra. The digital platform will bring engineering, product development, lifecycle management and supplier collaboration under one integrated system, supporting the company's plans to develop electric buses, trucks and other commercial mobility solutions under its AMPSTAR brand.
The implementation will connect JSW Greentech's research and development (R&D) centre in Pune with its upcoming greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The initiative is part of the company's digital transformation strategy and aims to improve coordination between engineering, manufacturing, business and supplier teams.
JSW Greentech Builds an Integrated Digital Platform for Commercial EVs
Announced by Siemens on November 3, 2026, the partnership will help JSW Greentech establish a unified Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) framework. This system will connect different stages of vehicle development, from initial engineering and product planning to manufacturing and supplier coordination.
The platform is expected to support the development of electric buses, trucks and other commercial electric mobility solutions. By bringing important product and business information together, JSW Greentech aims to improve communication between different departments, streamline workflows and make product development more efficient.
JSW Greentech was incorporated in 2024 as the JSW Group's commercial electric vehicle business. The company is developing an approximately 90-acre manufacturing facility at Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Its Pune-based R&D centre will support the engineering and development activities for its commercial EV portfolio.
Siemens Teamcenter to Connect EV Engineering and Product Data
A key part of the implementation will be Siemens Teamcenter, a Product Lifecycle Management software that will act as the central system for managing product-related information.
Teamcenter will bring engineering data, product structures and Bills of Materials (BOMs) together in one system. This will help JSW Greentech manage important product development information while improving coordination between different engineering teams.
The software will also support several important business and engineering activities, including:
Requirements management: Organising and tracking product development requirements.
Programme planning: Managing development programmes and their progress.
Engineering change management: Coordinating changes made during product development.
Mechanical and electrical engineering collaboration: Connecting teams working on different vehicle systems.
Product data management: Maintaining engineering information, product structures and bills of materials in a central system.
The platform will also be integrated with JSW Greentech's existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This integration will allow engineering and business data to be exchanged between the two systems, helping teams work with connected information across different operations.
Siemens Mendix to Improve Supplier and Business Collaboration
Alongside Teamcenter, JSW Greentech will use Siemens Mendix, an application development platform, to support supplier and business process collaboration.
Mendix will help create a dedicated digital portal through which suppliers and business partners can participate in relevant product development processes. This will extend digital workflows beyond the company's internal teams and make it easier for external suppliers to access the information and processes required for collaboration.
By connecting internal operations with supplier networks, the platform is expected to improve information sharing and coordination throughout the commercial EV development process.
JSW Greentech and Siemens Highlight the Importance of Digital Transformation
Commenting on the implementation, JSW Greentech CEO Sumit Mittal said the company's PLM initiative is designed to connect different stages of its engineering and manufacturing operations. He highlighted that the integrated approach will improve operational coordination and help reduce development timelines for commercial electric vehicles.
Siemens Digital Industries Software India Vice-President and Managing Director Mathew Thomas also highlighted the importance of the partnership. He said the implementation would establish a digital framework connecting engineering, product lifecycle management and enterprise collaboration as JSW Greentech continues to develop its commercial EV portfolio.
