VECV August 2026 Sales Surge 17.7% to 8,434 Units as Eicher Demand Grows

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) reported strong commercial vehicle sales growth in August 2026, supported mainly by higher domestic demand for Eicher trucks. VECV sold a total of 8,434 units, compared with 7,167 units in August 2025, registering a 17.7% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

The sales performance, as highlighted in the latest VECV August 2026 sales report, was driven by strong growth in the SCV/LMD truck segment, steady heavy-duty truck demand and higher Volvo Trucks sales.

VECV August 2026 Sales Performance

Eicher Trucks and Buses Sales Rise 17.9%

Eicher Trucks and Buses, including electric vehicles, recorded sales of 8,162 units in August 2026, up 17.9% from 6,924 units in the same month last year.

The growth was supported by strong demand across light, medium and heavy-duty truck categories in the domestic market.

Domestic Sales Grow Nearly 20%

VECV's domestic sales increased 19.8% to 7,584 units, compared with 6,331 units in August 2025.

The SCV/LMD truck segment emerged as the strongest performer, recording 29% growth. Heavy-duty trucks also maintained healthy momentum, while HD bus sales declined.

Export Sales Decline 2.5%

VECV exported 578 units in August 2026, compared with 593 units a year earlier.

Growth in SCV/LMD and bus exports helped limit the overall decline, despite a sharp fall in heavy-duty exports.

Volvo Trucks Sales Also Move Higher

Volvo Trucks and Buses sold 272 units in August 2026, compared with 243 units in August 2025, registering an 11.9% YoY increase. The growth further strengthened VECV's overall commercial vehicle sales performance during the month.

Strong August Performance for VECV

VECV's August 2026 sales results reflect continued strength in India's domestic commercial vehicle market. With total sales reaching 8,434 units, the company recorded solid double-digit growth, led by Eicher's domestic truck demand and steady growth in Volvo Trucks. While exports remained slightly lower, strong domestic performance helped VECV maintain its positive sales momentum.
