Tata Hitachi has launched two new mini excavators, the NX30 neo and ZAXIS 40U, at BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2026 in Noida. The company is showcasing 13 machines, a wide range of attachments and digital fleet-management solutions at the exhibition, which began on September 15.
The new excavators strengthen Tata Hitachi’s presence in the growing compact construction equipment segment, catering to urban construction, utility projects and specialised applications where larger machines may not be practical.
The NX30 neo and ZAXIS 40U are the latest additions to Tata Hitachi’s NX and compact excavator portfolio. The company already offers the NX50 and NX80, and these new models further expand its range of smaller machines.
Compact excavators are gaining demand as contractors increasingly require equipment that can operate in confined spaces and on mixed-use projects. Their smaller size makes them suitable for applications where larger construction machines can be difficult or costly to deploy.
A key feature of the ZAXIS 40U is its air-conditioned cabin, designed to improve operator comfort while working in India’s challenging weather conditions.
Tata Hitachi’s BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2026 display includes 13 machines covering different construction and material-handling applications.

The range includes mini excavators, a battery-electric excavator, construction excavators from 14 to 35 tonnes, backhoe loaders and a wheel loader. These machines are designed for applications ranging from general construction and infrastructure development to heavy excavation and material handling.
The e-33U electric excavator is another important part of Tata Hitachi’s display. Its presence reflects the construction equipment industry’s growing focus on lower-emission machinery.
Electric construction equipment is still a developing segment in India, but battery-powered machines are gaining attention as emissions regulations become stricter. They can also be useful for contractors operating in environmentally sensitive locations or enclosed work areas.
Tata Hitachi is also displaying several attachments designed to increase machine versatility. The range includes rock breakers, bucket crushers, bucket screeners, drum cutters, pulverizers, shears and thumb attachments.
These attachments allow contractors to configure a base machine for different jobs. This can help increase equipment utilisation and potentially reduce the requirement for multiple dedicated machines at a project site.
The company is also showcasing its ConSite and InSite telematics platforms. These digital solutions enable operators and fleet managers to remotely monitor important machine information, including machine health, fuel consumption and operational parameters.
Such fleet-management tools can support data-based maintenance planning and equipment management. For fleet owners, better monitoring can help manage operating costs and reduce machine downtime.
Tata Hitachi has also included a Tata Hitachi Brand Store at its pavilion, allowing visitors to purchase company-branded merchandise.
Tata Hitachi is a joint venture between Tata Motors and Hitachi Construction Machinery, established in 1984. The company manufactures construction equipment at its facilities in Dharwad, Karnataka, and Kharagpur, West Bengal.
It has more than 275 sales and service touchpoints across India. Its portfolio includes mini excavators, construction and mining excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders and dump trucks, along with parts and service operations.
BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2026 is one of South Asia’s major construction equipment trade fairs. The event brings together equipment manufacturers, contractors, infrastructure developers and industry buyers.
The exhibition provides a platform for manufacturers to launch new products, showcase technologies and engage with customers, while also reflecting demand trends linked to infrastructure development and equipment investment.
