Key Highlights
ACE has won an order for 74 4x4 backhoe loaders from BRO.
The order comes under the Ministry of Defence.
ACE’s February 2025 defence order covered 1,121 RTFLTs worth ₹420 crore.
Q1 FY27 revenue from operations rose 20.49% YoY to ₹785.68 crore.
Q1 FY27 consolidated net profit increased 22.28% to ₹119.49 crore.
Action Construction Equipment (ACE) has secured a fresh defence-sector order from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for 74 units of 4x4 backhoe loaders. The order comes under the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and marks another step in ACE’s efforts to expand its presence in defence equipment.
ACE disclosed the development in a regulatory filing on September 30, 2026. The company said the order reflects its continued focus on the defence sector and supports the government’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
74 Backhoe Loaders to Support BRO Operations
The 4x4 backhoe loaders will be supplied to the Border Roads Organisation, which plays a key role in developing and maintaining roads and other strategic infrastructure in difficult and remote border regions.
The four-wheel-drive configuration is particularly relevant for such applications, where construction equipment may have to operate across challenging terrain. The new order therefore adds another institutional opportunity for ACE in infrastructure and defence-related projects.
The company manufactures a broad range of construction and material-handling equipment, including cranes, backhoe loaders, forklifts, rollers, tractors and other machines used across infrastructure and industrial applications.
ACE Has Earlier Supplied Equipment for Defence
ACE already has experience in defence procurement. In February 2025, the Ministry of Defence placed contracts for 1,868 Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks (RTFLTs) with ACE and JCB India.
Importantly, ACE’s share of this larger order was 1,121 RTFLTs valued at ₹420 crore. The machines were intended for the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy, with the procurement aimed at improving defence logistics and encouraging indigenous manufacturing.
The latest backhoe-loader order consequently adds to ACE’s growing exposure to government and defence-led equipment demand.
ACE Q1 FY27 Performance
The new order comes after a strong start to FY27 for ACE. On a consolidated basis, the company reported ₹785.68 crore revenue from operations in Q1 FY27, up 20.49% from ₹652.08 crore in Q1 FY26. However, revenue was 23.68% lower than the previous quarter, reflecting the seasonal difference between Q4 and Q1.
Consolidated net profit stood at ₹119.49 crore, increasing 22.28% year-on-year from ₹97.72 crore. It also grew 7.74% sequentially from ₹110.91 crore in Q4 FY26.
ACE’s total consolidated income reached ₹840.29 crore, while the company’s construction equipment segment remained the major contributor to revenue during the quarter.
ACE Share Performance
The defence order also drew attention in the stock market. On September 30, ACE shares closed at ₹1,232, after trading higher during the session following the order announcement. The stock had risen 2.17% that day from the previous close.
Over the longer term, ACE has delivered substantial gains for investors, with the stock’s five-year return standing at more than 385% based on the performance figures provided.

CMV360 Says
ACE’s 74-unit backhoe-loader order from BRO strengthens its position in India’s defence and strategic infrastructure equipment market. More importantly, it builds on the company’s earlier defence supply contracts and fits with the government’s push for domestic manufacturing. With construction equipment remaining ACE’s core business and Q1 FY27 showing healthy year-on-year growth, the latest order provides another avenue for the company to diversify and expand its institutional business.
