EKA Mobility has expanded its electric commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the EKA 9-Metre Electric School Bus at the Prawaas 5.0 bus and passenger mobility exhibition in Gandhinagar. Designed specifically for school transportation, the new electric bus offers up to 180 km driving range, two battery pack options, advanced safety features, and fast charging capabilities.
The newly launched EKA 9M Electric School Bus is built on the company's lightweight monocoque platform and is designed to carry up to 43 passengers along with the driver. The bus features a high-strength steel structure to enhance durability and passenger protection.
With this launch, EKA Mobility has officially entered the electric school bus segment, further strengthening its electric passenger mobility portfolio.
Keeping student safety as a priority, the EKA 9M Electric School Bus complies with AIS 052 safety standards. It comes equipped with several advanced safety and comfort features, including:
Electronic Braking System (EBS)
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Air suspension
High-strength steel body structure
These features are designed to improve stability, braking performance, ride comfort, and overall passenger safety during daily school operations.
The electric school bus is available with two Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack options:
100 kWh battery pack
200 kWh battery pack
According to EKA Mobility, the bus delivers a driving range of up to 180 km on a single charge, making it suitable for regular school transportation routes.
The bus also supports CCS2 fast charging, allowing a full recharge in less than 1 hour and 45 minutes, helping fleet operators reduce vehicle downtime.
