Fresh Bus Launches Best Captain Award Program, Offers Rewards of Up to ₹1 Lakh for Drivers

Fresh Bus, an intercity electric bus operator, has introduced its Best Captain Award, an annual recognition and incentive programme aimed at rewarding drivers for safe driving practices, responsible vehicle handling and proper fleet care. The initiative highlights the company's efforts to recognise driver contributions while promoting a stronger road safety culture across its operations.

Under the programme, drivers, referred to as captains, will be evaluated through a 100-point scoring system based on documented performance records and verified data. The assessment will focus on recognising drivers who consistently follow safe driving practices and take good care of their assigned vehicles.

Fresh Bus Best Captain Award: Evaluation Period and Scoring System

The evaluation period for the first edition of the Best Captain Award will run from October 20, 2026, to October 9, 2027. During this period, each captain's performance will be assessed against a 100-point framework.

Based on their final scores, eligible drivers will receive the following cash rewards:

• 100 points: ₹1 lakh reward

• 85 to 99 points: ₹75,000 reward

• 70 to 84 points: ₹50,000 reward

One of the key features of this programme is that there is no limit on the number of eligible winners. This means every captain who meets the required scoring criteria can receive the corresponding reward.

Fresh Bus May Distribute More Than ₹5 Crore in Annual Rewards

Fresh Bus currently has a workforce of more than 500 captains. With no cap on the number of winners, the total annual reward payout could exceed ₹5 crore, depending on how many drivers qualify and their respective performance scores.

The programme is designed to make driver recognition a structured part of the company's operations. By linking rewards to measurable performance, Fresh Bus aims to encourage responsible driving, improve vehicle maintenance practices and promote safer intercity travel.
