Key Highlights:
In a step towards cleaner and greener urban services, EKA Mobility has handed over 10 electric garbage tippers to the Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC) in Goa. The initiative was officially inaugurated by Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant.
Fast, Efficient, and Eco-Friendly
These electric tippers can reach a top speed of 80 km/h and offer a range of up to 180 km on a single charge. Each tipper runs on a 32 kWh lithium ferrous phosphate battery and takes about 6–8 hours to fully charge. With a loading capacity of 1,000 kg, they are well-suited for daily waste collection duties.
Why This Matters for Sankhali
Local leaders, including Chairperson Siddhi S Prabhu Porob and former Chairperson Rashmi Dilip Desai, believe the electric tippers will make a big difference in keeping the city clean. They say this shows the council’s commitment to modern and responsible urban development.
Sustainability at the Street Level
EKA Mobility’s Rohit Srivastava shared that this project shows how cities can bring sustainability into everyday services. “Sustainability begins at the street level,” he said, pointing out that smart technology can help both people and the environment.
Backed by Global Support
EKA Mobility works with international partners like Mitsui Co., Ltd. from Japan and VDL Groep from the Netherlands. Together, they focus on building low-cost electric transport solutions to help cities become cleaner and more efficient.

CMV360 Says
Using electric garbage tippers is a good step for Sankhali. Everyone wants clean streets and fresh air. These new tippers will reduce fuel usage and pollution. They work like normal trucks but are better for the environment. This small change can make daily life better. If more cities do the same, our cities will become cleaner and quieter.
