Amazon India to Deploy 1,000 Eicher Electric Trucks for Quick Commerce Deliveries by 2028
Amazon India plans to deploy 1,000 Eicher Pro-X electric trucks by 2028 to strengthen its quick commerce operations and expand Amazon Now across 100 Indian cities. The company has already deployed nearly 50 trucks in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Designed for intra-city logistics, these EV trucks offer a 100-180 km range and fast charging in 50 minutes. Amazon currently operates over 12,000 EVs in India, supporting sustainable and faster deliveries.
Eicher Arm VECV To Increase Stake in Connected Solutions Joint Venture to 74%
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) will increase its stake in VE Connected Solutions from 51% to 74% by acquiring an additional 23% stake from iTriangle Infotech for INR 11.01 million. The deal is expected to close by July 31, 2026. VECS focuses on telematics, connected vehicle technologies, and smart mobility solutions. The company reported strong revenue growth, reaching INR 911 million in FY2025-26, highlighting rising demand for connected fleet and digital mobility services in India.
Apollo Tyres Launches Mobile Retail Vans to Reach Rural Customers Across India
Apollo Tyres has launched mobile retail vans to improve tyre access and customer support in rural India. The first unit was flagged off in Mandya, Karnataka, with plans to deploy 25 vans nationwide over the next 18–24 months. These vans will offer tyre sales, expert guidance, and maintenance support directly in villages. Apollo Tyres also organised a free health checkup camp during the launch as part of its rural outreach initiative.
MHI Explores Financing Support for Electric Buses and Trucks in India
Ministry of Heavy Industries held a high-level meeting in New Delhi to explore financing support for electric buses and trucks in India. Discussions with major banks and transport operators focused on credit guarantee schemes and interest subsidies to reduce financing challenges for fleet owners. The initiative aims to accelerate electric commercial vehicle adoption, lower emissions, and support India’s clean transport, decarbonisation, and net-zero goals through easier and more affordable financing solutions.
Eicher Motors Approves Rs 750 Crore Investment for Volvo Financial Services India Joint Venture
Eicher Motors will invest up to Rs 750 crores to acquire a 50% stake in Volvo Financial Services India. The joint venture will become the exclusive finance arm for VECV, Eicher Motors, and Volvo Group products in India. The partnership aims to improve vehicle financing access, faster decision-making, and customer support. VFS India currently manages assets worth Rs 1,825 crores, strengthening its position in India’s commercial vehicle financing market.

Maharashtra has approved ₹164.83 crore compensation for farmers affected by unseasonal rains and hailstorms in March 2026. The government will also waive crop loans up to ₹2 lakh and provide incentives of up to ₹50,000 for timely repayments. Additionally, ₹20,000 crore has been allocated for agricultural electricity bill waivers. These measures aim to provide immediate financial relief and support rural development and agricultural recovery across the state.
Haryana Farmers Get Big Relief: Farmer Registry and PM-KISAN e-KYC Now Free at CSC Centres
Haryana has made Farmer Registry and PM-KISAN e-KYC services completely free at CSC centres. The government will pay the ₹15 service fee, helping farmers complete registration, digital verification, and e-KYC easily at village-level centres. Farmers need Aadhaar, bank, and land documents for the process. The initiative aims to improve transparency, strengthen digital agriculture, and ensure faster delivery of government scheme benefits to farmers.
