India-based tyre maker Apollo Tyres Ltd has launched a new mobile retail initiative aimed at improving tyre access and customer support in rural areas. The company has introduced a mobile retail van that will travel directly to villages, helping customers buy tyres and receive expert guidance without visiting urban dealerships.
The first mobile retail unit was officially flagged off on May 20, 2026, at Pandavapura village in Mandya district of Karnataka by Rajesh Dahiya.
Apollo Tyres said it plans to deploy 25 such mobile retail vans across the country over the next 18 to 24 months. The initiative starts from Karnataka’s Mandya district and is expected to gradually expand into other rural regions where organised tyre retail networks remain limited.
The company said these vans are designed to bridge the gap between rural customers and branded tyre products by offering easy access to tyres, technical support, and product awareness at the customer’s doorstep.
Each mobile van carries a carefully selected range of tyres and is operated by trained representatives. Customers can get advice on tyre selection, proper usage, maintenance practices, and vehicle safety directly from the staff.
The initiative is especially targeted at areas where tyre dealerships are either limited or completely unavailable. In many rural regions, vehicle owners often travel long distances to purchase tyres or receive technical guidance, which can affect maintenance decisions and road safety.
Speaking at the launch event, Rajesh Dahiya said the company wants to simplify the buying process for rural customers.
He said, “By bringing our products and expertise directly to the customers' doorstep, we aim to simplify the buying journey and ensure that even the most remote communities have access to the right mobility solutions.”
Along with the vehicle launch, Apollo Tyres also organised a free health checkup camp in collaboration with the Apollo Tyres Foundation. The event was conducted as part of the company’s community outreach activities in the region.
Apollo Tyres Ltd is an international tyre manufacturing company headquartered in India. The company operates manufacturing facilities in India, the Netherlands, and Hungary.
Apollo Tyres sells products under the Apollo and Vredestein brands and has a retail and distribution network spread across more than 100 countries through branded and multi-product outlets.

Apollo Tyres new mobile retail initiative is expected to improve tyre accessibility and customer awareness in rural India. By taking products, expert advice, and support services directly to villages, the company aims to reduce dependency on distant urban dealerships. The initiative can help rural vehicle owners make better maintenance decisions while improving road safety and convenience. With plans to expand 25 mobile vans nationwide, Apollo Tyres is strengthening its reach in underserved markets across the country.
