DICV Boosts R&D Spending to Strengthen BharatBenz Trucks and Buses in India
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) invested Rs 211 crore in R&D during FY25 to improve fuel efficiency, safety, uptime, and lower ownership costs across its commercial vehicle range. The company introduced the BharatBenz HX series for mining and construction, while focusing on localization and adapting global technologies for Indian conditions. Eicher Trucks and Buses, Cityflo Partner to Deploy 2,000 Premium Buses Across India
Eicher Trucks and Buses has partnered with Cityflo to deploy 2,000 premium intra-city buses across India over the next three years, with around 500 buses planned for FY27. The partnership includes diesel, CNG, and electric buses designed for comfortable, reliable, and sustainable urban commuting. PM-KUSUM 2.0 Launch Soon: Big Opportunity for Farmers to Double Income With Solar Farming
The Government of India is preparing to launch PM-KUSUM 2.0 with a proposed ₹50,000 crore budget to help farmers generate income through solar energy. Under the scheme, solar panels will be installed above farms, allowing cultivation and electricity generation together. Fruit and vegetable farmers are expected to benefit the most through lower irrigation costs, reduced diesel pump usage, and additional earnings from selling surplus solar power, making farming more sustainable and profitable.
The Madhya Pradesh government will release the 36th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana on May 13, providing Rs 1,500 to eligible women beneficiaries. However, nearly 1 lakh names have been removed from the list due to incomplete e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank linking issues, and eligibility mismatches. Beneficiaries have been advised to quickly verify Aadhaar, bank account, and Samagra ID details to avoid missing future payments under the scheme.
The Central Government has increased MSP for 14 Kharif crops for the 2026-27 season to improve farmers’ income and encourage higher cultivation.
