India’s tractor industry saw 14.84% growth in October 2025 with 1,66,145 units sold. Mahindra leads, while Sonalika posts the highest growth amid strong festive and rural demand.

India’s domestic tractor industry continued its upward journey in October 2025, recording a 14.84% growth with total wholesale volumes of 1,66,145 units, compared to 1,44,675 units in October 2024. The sector benefited from festive demand, improved financing, and better rural sentiment, helping most leading brands report healthy gains.

Brand-Wise Sales Analysis

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) continued to lead the domestic tractor industry with 72,071 units sold, up 12.04% from last year. However, its market share declined slightly from 44.46% to 43.38%, reflecting intensified competition from fast-growing rivals.

TAFE Group

TAFE Group, including the Massey Ferguson and Eicher brands, achieved strong results, registering 16.87% growth to 29,234 units. Its market share improved to 17.60%, supported by the consistent performance of the Massey Ferguson and Eicher tractor brands.

Sonalika Tractors

Sonalika was the top performer of the month, reporting 37.66% growth with 24,781 units sold. Its market share jumped by 2.47 percentage points to 14.92%, the highest gain among all manufacturers. Strong product demand and an expanding dealer network helped drive this growth.

Escorts Kubota

Escorts Kubota sold 18,423 tractors, a modest 3.27% rise from last year. However, its market share declined from 12.33% to 11.09%, indicating pressure in mid-range horsepower segments.

John Deere

John Deere reported 11,893 units, showing 3.57% growth, but its market share slipped from 7.94% to 7.16%. The company continues to face competition in the high-horsepower segment.

New Holland

New Holland posted 7,105 units, up 23.69% from last year, with market share improving from 3.97% to 4.28%. The company benefited from stable sales in the 40–55 HP tractor range.

VST Tillers & Indo Farm

VST Tillers and Indo Farm both saw moderate volume growth of 4.58% and 12.99% respectively. However, both lost marginal market share due to strong performance by bigger OEMs.

SDF, Captain, and Preet Tractors

SDF maintained stable sales at 110 units with 13.40% growth. Captain Tractors recorded a remarkable 65.92% jump, reaching 443 units, while Preet Tractors achieved 24.54% growth with 680 units sold, both showing positive momentum in smaller tractor segments.

ACE Tractors

ACE was the only brand to record a decline, with sales falling 10.27% to 332 units. Its market share dropped from 0.26% to 0.20%, reflecting continued headwinds in demand.

India’s tractor market performed steadily in October 2025, supported by the festive season and favorable agricultural conditions. While Mahindra & Mahindra and TAFE Group maintained their leadership, Sonalika’s record growth stood out this month. The industry outlook remains optimistic heading into the Rabi sowing season, with rural liquidity and mechanization demand expected to sustain sales momentum.
