Key Highlights

  • 1.47 million lives impacted in FY25.

  • 356 water bodies restored across 10 districts.

  • 19,000 students coached under the ENABLE programme.

  • 8,000 waste picker families supported in Pune.

  • 90% reduction in child malnutrition in Trombay.

Tata Motors has released its 11th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report titled “Expanding Circles of Care: Deeper Connections, Lasting Impact.” The company highlighted how its CSR programmes are going beyond short-term support and focusing on long-term social transformation.

In FY25, Tata Motors reached more than 1.47 million beneficiaries, with 56% from SC/ST communities. The company worked across 109 aspirational districts, aligning its efforts with national development priorities.

Vinod Kulkarni, Head CSR at Tata Motors, said,

“Expanding our circle of care means bringing those at the margins to the mainstream. From enabling dignified livelihoods to restoring ecosystems, we co-create solutions rooted in equity and built for long-term impact.”

Water Conservation at Scale

With 66% of rural Maharashtra facing drought, Tata Motors focused strongly on water security. In FY25, the company:

  • Restored 356 water bodies across 10 districts.

  • Created nearly 700 crore litres of water storage capacity.

  • Benefited 7,000 farmers and 2.9 lakh villagers by ensuring water for farming and daily use.

The programme is based on government convergence, community ownership, and digital monitoring. For FY26, Tata Motors plans to rejuvenate 1,000 water bodies in 25+ districts.

Rural Development in Underserved Regions

Tata Motors expanded its Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP), first launched in 2018. It is now active in 16 gram panchayats across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.

In FY25, IVDP was introduced in Shravasti and Balrampur, two underdeveloped districts in UP. The programme is aligned with 13 Sustainable Development Goals and connects with 48 government schemes, addressing nine key areas including health, education, and livelihoods.

In Palghar’s tribal belt, IVDP has improved the lives of 18,000+ people by enabling better access to basic facilities.

Creating Dignified Livelihoods

Employment creation remains central to Tata Motors CSR vision. In Pune, it partnered with Kashtakari Panchayat to support 8,000 waste picker families.

  • 1,814 women were enrolled in health schemes.

  • Children were given access to education and skill development.

  • Four youth from the community joined Tata Motors under NAPS for apprenticeships.

The company also worked with Nirmaan NGO to rescue 47 bonded labourers in Maharashtra and set up Kamgar Samman and Suvidha Kendra in Bhosari, benefiting over 12,000 migrant workers with legal aid and government scheme access.

Building an Inclusive Workplace

Tata Motors focused on inclusion within its own workforce by hiring:

  • 141 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)

  • 17 transgender individuals

This was supported by training, sensitisation programmes, and inclusive workplace policies, setting a strong example for equity in the auto industry.

Supporting Education & Academic Success

Through the ENABLE programme, over 19,000 students received coaching for competitive exams, with 28% of 8,000 JEE Mains aspirants qualifying.

In Mumbai, 69 BMC schools received remedial coaching, resulting in a 96% SSC pass rate, surpassing the city average.

Combating Urban Malnutrition

Under Project Aarogyasampanna, more than 1,000 children in Trombay, Mumbai, were screened, resulting in a 90% reduction in severe and moderate malnutrition cases.

Parents were educated about nutrition, and community health libraries were established to spread awareness.

Strong Employee Participation

CSR is deeply rooted in Tata Motors culture. In FY25, 19,000+ employees volunteered 2 lakh+ hours, participating in:

  • Health awareness campaigns

  • Environmental projects

  • Disaster relief operations

This strong participation shows how Tata Motors workforce is actively engaged in driving social impact.
