JSW Greentech Limited, a JSW Group company established in 2024, has entered India’s electric commercial vehicle (CV) market with the launch of its new brand AMPSTAR. Built around the proposition “ALL IN. ALL ELECTRIC.”, AMPSTAR will offer an all-electric portfolio of E-Buses and E-Trucks designed specifically for Indian transportation needs.
The launch marks the JSW Group’s entry into sustainable commercial mobility, with JSW Greentech focusing on electric solutions for both passenger and goods transportation.
AMPSTAR to Offer Electric Buses and Trucks
AMPSTAR has been introduced as an all-electric commercial mobility brand with products aimed at different transportation applications. Its portfolio will cater to:
Staff transportation
Intercity transportation
School transportation
City transportation
Goods transportation through electric trucks
Rather than focusing on a single mobility application, JSW Greentech is placing electrification at the centre of its commercial vehicle strategy, covering both passenger and goods movement.
Why JSW Greentech is Focusing on Electric CVs
The company highlighted the need to accelerate the transition towards electric commercial mobility in India. Commercial vehicles account for around 4% of the country’s total vehicle population but contribute nearly 40% of vehicle-related pollution.
Trucks and buses are also responsible for around 40% of India’s oil imports, making electrification an important area for reducing dependence on conventional fuels.
While electric vehicle adoption has grown in passenger vehicles and two-wheelers, electric commercial mobility, especially electric trucks and buses, is still at an early stage. Through AMPSTAR, JSW Greentech aims to address this gap with an all-electric product portfolio covering multiple passenger and goods transportation applications.
JSW Group Expands its Mobility Ambitions
The AMPSTAR launch is another step in the JSW Group’s automotive and mobility plans. The group already has a presence in passenger mobility through MG Motor India and is now expanding into commercial mobility through JSW Greentech.
Established in 2024, JSW Greentech is backed by the JSW Group’s industrial capabilities and aims to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial mobility in India.
The company’s approach is guided by the JSW Group’s core values of Commitment, Courage, Agility, Collaboration, Compassion and Customer Excellence.

With AMPSTAR, JSW Greentech is entering India’s emerging electric commercial vehicle market with a wider strategy covering both buses and trucks. The brand plans to serve staff, school, city and intercity transportation while also targeting goods movement. Its all-electric approach comes as India looks to reduce pollution, oil dependence and emissions from commercial mobility.
