The Storm EV range offers two models: LongRange 200 for intercity logistics and T1250 for intracity operations.
Storm EV Range: India’s First ADAS-Equipped Electric LCVs

Key Highlights:

  • Euler Motors launches Storm EV, India’s first ADAS-equipped electric LCVs.
  • Shift from electric three-wheelers to four-wheelers is gaining momentum.
  • ADAS features like collision alerts and night vision enhance safety.
  • Production scaling up with plans to sell 5,000 four-wheelers this year.
  • Government subsidies and ecosystem partnerships crucial for growth.

Saurav Kumar, CEO and Co-Founder of Euler Motors, has introduced a new era in electric mobility with the launch of the Storm EV range, India’s first electric Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

This move comes as competition in the electric vehicle market intensifies, with other key players like Mahindra and Tata Motors entering the electric four-wheeler segment.

Addressing Market Trends

Kumar recognizes a market shift from electric three-wheelers to four-wheelers in India. While three-wheelers remain popular due to their affordability, the demand for four-wheelers is growing.

According to Kumar, “Both three-wheelers and four-wheelers have their place, but it’s time for four-wheelers to shine, provided they hit the right price and performance benchmarks.”

He emphasized that electric four-wheelers must deliver value without driving up operational costs. "Price has to remain competitive, and customers need vehicles that can carry similar loads over similar distances," Kumar added.

ADAS and Storm EV Features

The Storm EV range offers two models: LongRange 200 for intercity logistics and T1250 for intracity operations. Both models include ADAS, a first for India’s LCV segment. ADAS features include front and rear collision alerts, night vision assist, and rain-sensing wipers, aimed at improving safety.

Kumar underlined the importance of safety in commercial vehicles. He explained that safety is crucial for drivers, and ADAS will help avoid accidents and lower repair costs.

The Storm EV range also features a liquid-cooled battery system with ArcReactor 200 technology and multiple driving modes—Range, Thunder, and Rhino—making them adaptable to different terrains and logistic needs.

Scaling Production and Strategic Partnerships

Euler Motors has already sold around 6,000 electric three-wheelers and aims to replicate this success with its four-wheelers. Production is set at 1,000 vehicles per month, with plans to increase output as demand grows. Kumar also highlighted partnerships with major e-commerce companies like Flipkart, leveraging electric mobility to reduce delivery costs.

Profitability and Government Support

Although Euler Motors isn’t profitable yet, Kumar remains optimistic. He said that success takes time, and government support through programs like FAME II is important for increasing adoption.

Expanding the EV Ecosystem

Kumar emphasized the need for collaboration across the EV ecosystem, including battery suppliers, charging stations, and financiers. While Euler Motors manufactures its own batteries, Kumar is open to partnerships with suppliers like Log9 and Exponent Energy to improve battery performance.
