Propel Industries, one of India’s leading manufacturers of crushing equipment, unveiled the 4×2 Electric Tractor Trailer Truck – 470 eTR – at bauma CONEXPO India 2024. The was inaugurated by Shri Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. The new truck aims to address sustainability challenges in the logistics and construction sectors with innovative electric vehicle (EV) solutions.
Impressive Battery and Charging Features
The 470 eTR comes with high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, offering a remarkable range of up to 350 km on a single charge. With fast-charging capabilities, the truck can recharge its 385 kWh battery to 100% in just 70 minutes, minimizing downtime. It also provides three battery options—385 kWh, 480 kWh, and 550 kWh—catering to different range and application needs.
Powerful Performance and Robust Design
The truck has a Gross Combination Weight (GCW) of 55 tons, making it an ideal choice for transporting large loads. Powered by a 350 kW electric motor delivering 2600 Nm of torque, the 470 eTR can handle heavy-duty tasks efficiently. It features a durable chassis and premium materials, ensuring long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance.
Smart Connectivity and Fleet Management
The truck is equipped with advanced telematics and IoT solutions for real-time monitoring of performance, battery status, and route optimization. These smart features help fleet managers enhance operational efficiency and manage logistics effectively.
Advanced Safety Systems
Safety is a priority in the 470 eTR. It includes advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as ABS, EBS, ESC, HSA, and traction control to ensure secure and smooth operation in challenging conditions.
Part of Propel’s Eco-Friendly Line-Up
The 470 eTR joins Propel Industries’ lineup of green solutions, which includes the 470 MEV and 470 HEV models designed for mining applications. The 470 HEV is certified under CMVR in the N3G category, highlighting its safety and roadworthiness.
Management Insights
Speaking about the launch, Mr. Senthil Kumar, Managing Director of Propel Industries, emphasized the truck’s durability and efficiency. He stated, “More than 1,20,000 cumulative hours of testing have gone into the powertrain and critical components. The 470 eTR is built to endure and is designed to meet the growing demands of sustainable transportation.”
Siddharth Kirtane, President of the EV business at Propel Industries, added, “The 470 eTR showcases Propel’s commitment to EV innovation. With this addition, we strengthen our portfolio of eco-friendly vehicles.”
