Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF) has unveiled Kilo. PFF is the Boston-based branch of Piaggio Group specialising in future mobility and robotics. Kilo is the latest innovation of Piaggio Fast Forward in smart-following technology.

Presented at Modex in Atlanta, Georgia, Kilo stands as a remarkable advancement in smart-following technology. This robotic platform is capable of carrying up to 130 kg. It integrates cutting-edge sensors and 4D radar imaging developed by PFF to autonomously follow operators and navigate pre-set paths. It has a memory capacity to store over 100 paths.

CEO Greg Lynn's Vision

Greg Lynn, CEO of Piaggio Fast Forward, highlighted the significance of Kilo, stating, "Our robotics technology is augmenting workforces around the world." Lynn emphasized Kilo's customizability and its ability to leverage state-of-the-art software tools to manage the human-robot relationship effectively.

Enhancing Workplace Safety and Efficiency

Designed to complement human work, Kilo minimizes injury risks and introduces PFF’s Travel on Known Paths software, enabling innovative autonomous or follow-along operations. The platform's versatility shines through its customizability options, making it adaptable for specific industry needs through various carts or shelving configurations.

Integration and Expansion Plans

The Piaggio Group is integrating Kilo into its Moto Guzzi production lines in Mandello del Lario as part of a modernization initiative. There are plans to expand its usage across the group's global manufacturing sites.
