Mahindra Expects Government Support to Help Farmers

Commenting on the performance, Veejay Nakra, President - Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said that the company achieved 58,177 domestic tractor sales in June 2026, reflecting a 12% increase over the previous year.

He noted that while it is still early to assess the full impact of the emerging El Niño conditions, the company expects government initiatives such as continued fertilizer subsidies and targeted support measures at the local level to reduce risks for farmers and help cushion the impact on the upcoming Kharif season.

Nakra also highlighted that Mahindra exported 1,758 tractors during June, registering an 8% growth over the same period last year.

Outlook

Mahindra's June 2026 sales performance reflects continued strength in India's tractor market, supported by healthy domestic demand and steady export growth. The strong first-quarter performance of FY27 indicates positive momentum for the company. While weather conditions remain an important factor for the agriculture sector, government support measures are expected to provide confidence to farmers and help sustain tractor demand during the Kharif season.

CMV360 Says

Mahindra's strong 12% growth in June 2026 and an 18% rise in cumulative FY27 sales highlight continued demand for its tractors in both domestic and export markets. With government support measures expected to help farmers manage weather-related challenges, the company remains well-positioned for the upcoming Kharif season. However, the progress of the monsoon and the impact of emerging El Niño conditions will remain important factors influencing future tractor demand.
