Automotive Manufacturers (AMPL Group), Mahindra’s largest dealer in India, has launched a brand-new Mahindra Commercial Vehicle (CV) dealership in Madurai. The new facility aims to meet the rising demand for light commercial vehicles in the region and further strengthen Mahindra’s presence in South India.
The newly opened dealership is located on Pandi Kovil Ring Road, near Guru Hospital in Mattuthavani, making it easily accessible for customers in the Madurai North area. Spread across 3,500 sq. ft., the air-conditioned showroom can display up to five Mahindra Light Commercial Vehicles at a time, giving buyers the opportunity to explore the models in detail before making a purchase.
The strategic location is designed to serve both Captive and Market Load Operator segments, ensuring quicker and more convenient access to Mahindra’s range of CVs.
With this launch, AMPL Group now operates 138 Mahindra touchpoints across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Kerala. In FY 2025 alone, the group sold over 37,000 Mahindra vehicles nationwide.
In Tamil Nadu, AMPL runs 28 Mahindra outlets, including nine 3S facilities (Sales, Service, Spares), 12 showrooms, and seven service workshops. Over the last five years, more than 30,000 Mahindra vehicles have been sold in the state, with 14,500 units sold in Madurai alone.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Thalapathi G., Honourable MLA of Madurai North constituency, along with senior officials from Mahindra and AMPL Group.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajiv Sanghvi, Executive Director of AMPL, said:
“This is our 138th Mahindra touchpoint, and it strengthens our nearly seven-decade-long bond with Mahindra. Together, we aim to deliver best-in-class products and customer experiences, combining Mahindra’s innovation with our deep market knowledge.”
Industry data from CRISIL Ratings shows that Light Commercial Vehicles make up 62% of the total CV sales and are projected to grow by 4-6% in 2025. This growth is driven by the booming e-commerce sector, expanding warehouses in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and demand from industries like cement and mining.
