Jupiter Electric Mobility has opened a 2.5-acre manufacturing plant in Pithampur. The facility has in-house skateboard platform capabilities and a vehicle assembly unit.

Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the EV division of Jupiter Group, has introduced its new electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV), the JEM TEZ. Along with the launch, the company has also opened a manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore. This step aims to strengthen JEM’s position in the commercial EV market and boost local production.

Jupiter Electric Mobility has opened a 2.5-acre manufacturing plant in Pithampur to support the production of the  EV. The facility has in-house skateboard platform capabilities and a vehicle assembly unit. Initially the plant will produce 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs per year, with plans to expand. The plant aims to strengthen domestic EV manufacturing and reduce import dependence.

JEM Tez Specifications, Features and Price

The JEM Tez is a powerful light-duty electric truck with a 30.24 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. It delivers 80 kW power and 265 Nm of torque, reaching speeds of up to 80 kmph. The battery takes about 4 hours to charge with AC charging, while DC fast charging adds 40+ km range in just 30 minutes. The new vehicle has a certified range of over 190 plus km, an 80kW peak power output, and a 1.05-ton payload capacity. It supports fast charging, adding 100+ km of range in an hour with a CCS2 charger. Built for last-mile delivery and urban transport, it is priced at ₹10.35 lakh (ex-showroom).

Key features of the JEM Tez:

  • Twin headlights and fog lamps for better visibility.
  • Reverse parking assist system (RPAS) for safety.
  • Telematics for monitoring vehicle performance.
  • Dual drive modes for power when needed.
  • Limp home function for emergencies.
  • Creep function and hill hold assist for easy driving on slopes.

It also comes with a 7-year or 2,00,000 km battery warranty. Jupiter Electric Mobility believes these features make the JEM Tez a great value-for-money electric truck in India.

Jupiter Electric Mobility is expanding nationwide by launching the JEM TEZ in major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, where EV adoption is growing.
