FlixBus India Expands South Network With 120 Buses; New Routes to Ooty, Guntur

FlixBus India is strengthening its presence in South India with plans to add 120 buses across its southern network during the third and fourth quarters of 2026. The intercity mobility platform is entering its third year in the region, which now accounts for more than 50% of its nationwide network.

FlixBus South India Network Expands

The company recorded triple-digit year-on-year route growth in September 2026 across major southern metropolitan hubs. Bengaluru saw its network capacity increase by 260%, while routes originating from Hyderabad and Chennai grew by 159% and 100%, respectively.

The upcoming expansion will further increase intercity connectivity across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. FlixBus plans to introduce new services connecting passengers to destinations including Guntur, Coonoor and Ooty.

The company has also introduced a new inter-state connection between Hyderabad and Puducherry, operated using Volvo Sleeper coaches. FlixBus currently offers sleeper and semi-sleeper services, along with features such as air conditioning, USB connectivity and real-time tracking.

Focus on More Cities and Higher Capacity

Surya Khurana, Managing Director, FlixBus India, said South India has become a significant part of the company's journey, with more than half of its network now operating in the region.

He added that the next phase will focus on building network density, connecting more cities and increasing capacity, while making intercity travel more accessible and dependable for passengers.

With the addition of 120 buses and new routes, FlixBus aims to strengthen connections between major cities and emerging destinations across southern India.
