The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released the three-wheeler retail sales data for July 2025. As per the report, a total of 1,11,426 three-wheelers were sold across India in July 2025, showing a year-on-year growth of 0.83% and a strong monthly growth of 10.73% compared to June 2025.

Total Three-Wheelers (3W): In July 2025, total three-wheeler retail sales stood at 1,11,426 units, rising from 1,00,625 units in June 2025 and 1,10,511 units in July 2024. This reflects a 10.73% month-on-month (MoM) increase and a 0.83% year-on-year (YoY) growth.
E-Rickshaw (Passenger): Sales in this segment reached 39,798 units in July 2025, up from 35,367 units in June 2025. However, it dropped compared to 44,462 units in July 2024, showing a 12.53% MoM growth but a 10.49% YoY decline.
E-Rickshaw with Cart (Goods): A total of 6,813 units were sold in July 2025, slightly lower than 6,846 units in June 2025 but significantly higher than 5,186 units in July 2024. This marks a 0.48% MoM dip, yet a strong 31.37% YoY increase.
Three-Wheeler (Goods Carrier): This segment recorded 9,862 units in July 2025, compared to 9,468 units in June 2025 and 10,197 units in July 2024. It saw a 4.16% MoM rise but a 3.29% YoY decline.
Three-Wheeler (Passenger Carrier): Passenger carrier sales stood at 54,861 units in July 2025, up from 48,848 units in June 2025 and 50,593 units in July 2024. The segment witnessed a 12.31% MoM increase and an 8.44% YoY growth, making it the top-performing category.
Three-Wheeler (Personal Use): This niche segment registered 92 units in July 2025, a small decline from 96 units in June 2025 but higher than 73 units in July 2024. It recorded a 4.17% MoM drop and a 26.03% YoY growth.

Bajaj Auto continued to lead the three-wheeler market in July 2025 with 38,704 units sold. Although sales slightly decreased compared to 38,730 units in July 2024, the company retained the top spot with a market share of 34.74%, down marginally from 35.05%. Its consistent performance shows the continued popularity of its auto rickshaw lineup in both passenger and cargo segments.
The Mahindra Group recorded a combined retail of 20,974 units in July 2025, showing strong growth from 15,195 units in July 2024. This pushed the group’s total market share up from 13.75% to 18.84%, reflecting rising demand for both diesel and electric offerings.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd sold 10,492 units, increasing from 7,650 units last year. Its market share grew from 6.92% to 9.42%, driven by its conventional passenger and goods three-wheelers.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd contributed 10,482 units, up from 7,545 units, raising its share from 6.83% to 9.41%, highlighting strong interest in Mahindra's electric three-wheeler portfolio.
Piaggio sold 6,901 units in July 2025, down from 8,445 units in July 2024. Its market share declined from 7.64% to 6.19%. The fall could be attributed to rising competition in both the ICE and EV three-wheeler categories.
TVS Motors posted a strong year-on-year growth by retailing 4,279 units, significantly up from 1,982 units in July 2024. This doubled its market share from 1.79% to 3.84%, showing the brand’s growing traction in the electric and last-mile mobility space.
YC Electric registered 3,635 units, slightly down from 3,856 units sold in July 2024. Its market share saw a minor dip from 3.49% to 3.26%, indicating a relatively stable performance in the electric passenger category.
Atul Auto reported 2,365 units in July 2025, almost flat compared to 2,376 units in the same month last year. Its market share remained stable at 2.12%, reflecting steady demand for its conventional three-wheeler models.
Saera Electric sold 2,207 units, down from 2,573 units last year. Its market share dropped slightly from 2.33% to 1.98%, possibly due to growing competition in the electric rickshaw space.
Dilli Electric retailed 1,920 units in July 2025, compared to 2,268 units a year ago. This reduced its market share from 2.05% to 1.72%, marking a marginal decline in performance.
Energy Electric sold 1,235 units, almost unchanged from 1,240 units in July 2024. Its market share held steady at 1.11%, maintaining a consistent footprint in the niche electric segment.
All other manufacturers combined sold 39,688 units in July 2025, slightly down from 41,391 units a year ago. Their collective market share decreased from 37.45% to 35.62%, but they still represent a significant chunk of the market, especially in the growing electric and semi-urban mobility categories.

The three-wheeler segment showed stable growth in July 2025 with 1,11,426 units sold, driven by strong passenger vehicle demand and rising interest in electric models. Bajaj Auto led the market, while Mahindra Group posted impressive gains. TVS Motors also recorded notable growth in the EV space. Although some electric brands saw slight declines, last-mile mobility demand continues to grow, especially in urban and semi-urban areas. With evolving customer needs and increased focus on sustainability, the segment is expected to maintain its upward trend in the coming months.
