EKA Mobility has supplied three 9-meter electric buses to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. This project has been funded by Power Grid Corporation of India under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and was procured through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal.
The order was secured through a reverse auction process on the GeM portal, following a tender issued by AIIMS. These electric buses are specially designed to serve patients, staff, and visitors of AIIMS by providing clean and sustainable last-mile mobility solutions.
The buses come with a 23+1 seating configuration equipped with comfortable pushback seats. They also include wheelchair accessibility and hydraulic lifts, ensuring easy mobility for differently-abled passengers. With these features, AIIMS can now provide a safe, accessible, and eco-friendly transportation option within its premises.
The initiative was ceremonially flagged off by Shri R.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director of Power Grid, and Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS. Senior officials from Power Grid Corporation were also present, including Shri Yatindra Dwivedi (Director, Personnel), Shri Vikram Singh Bhal (Executive Director, CMG), and Shri Jasbir Singh (Executive Director, CSR).
