Eicher Trucks & Buses, the bus business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), showcased its latest passenger mobility solutions-the Eicher Skyline Pro E 12m Intercity Electric Bus and the Eicher Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab-at PRAWAAS 5.0 in Gandhinagar on July 9, 2026.
The company introduced these vehicles to meet the growing demand for modern, safe, comfortable, and sustainable transportation for intercity travel and regional tourism. The launch also supports the Government of India's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision of promoting safe, smart, and environmentally friendly public transport.
Eicher Trucks & Buses offers one of India's widest bus portfolios, covering school buses, staff buses, city buses, intercity coaches, and tourism vehicles. As passenger travel continues to grow across different segments, transport operators are looking for vehicles that offer:

Suresh Chettiar, Executive Vice President - Bus Division, VE Commercial Vehicles, said the Skyline Pro E proves that electric mobility is now ready for intercity transportation, while the Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab meets the rising demand for premium tourism and group travel. According to him, both vehicles combine advanced technology, passenger comfort, and operational efficiency for India's changing transportation needs.
The Eicher Skyline Pro E 12-metre Intercity Electric Bus is designed to take electric mobility beyond city operations and into long-distance intercity travel.
Built on a future-ready electric platform, the bus offers dependable performance, sufficient driving range, lower energy and maintenance costs, and Eicher's connected uptime ecosystem. It is equipped with 100% connected vehicle technology and the My Eicher platform, allowing operators to monitor vehicles in real time and improve fleet efficiency.
The electric coach offers seating for 44 passengers along with a co-driver and driver (44+CD+D). It is designed for comfortable long-distance travel with ergonomically designed premium seats, while the last row also features push-back seats for improved comfort.
Passengers can enjoy several comfort features, including:

Two 24-inch LED televisions for entertainment
The coach also provides more than 5 cubic metres of luggage space, including overhead hat racks and a spacious rear luggage compartment, making it suitable for tourism and long-distance travel.

Water-level submerged warning system for flood-prone conditions

Alongside the electric bus, Eicher also showcased the Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab, developed for the fast-growing regional tourism and group travel market.
Powered by a 4-cylinder engine and built on a 3300 mm wheelbase, the vehicle delivers strong performance, better fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and enhanced passenger comfort.
Like the Skyline Pro E, the Starline 2050 E is also a 100% connected vehicle, supported by the My Eicher platform and Eicher's uptime ecosystem for proactive vehicle monitoring and better fleet management.
The Starline 2050 E offers an 11+1+D seating configuration with comfortable push-back seats and refined NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels for a quieter cabin experience.
Its safety features include:
3-point seat belts
Disc brakes
Collapsible steering column
Rear anti-roll bar for improved stability
The vehicle also provides ample luggage space, making it suitable for highway routes as well as hilly tourist destinations.
