Commercial vehicle maker VE Commercial Vehicles business unit Eicher Trucks and Buses has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cityflo to strengthen premium intra-city mobility services across India.

The partnership aims to deploy 2,000 premium Eicher buses over the next three years to improve daily commuting experiences for urban passengers. Around 500 buses are planned for deployment during FY27.

The announcement was made in New Delhi on 14 May 2026.

Focus on Comfortable and Reliable Daily Commutes

Under the agreement, Eicher Trucks and Buses will provide a multi-fuel portfolio designed for modern urban transport needs. This includes premium AC pushback buses, CNG buses, and electric buses, along with deployment support.

The buses covered under the partnership include models such as the Eicher Skyline Pro 3011 AC Pushback equipped with Rear Air Suspension in both diesel and CNG variants. These buses are specially designed to provide comfortable seating, improved ride quality, enhanced air conditioning performance, and reduced cabin noise for passengers.

The companies said the collaboration will focus on offering reliable and predictable travel experiences while improving operational efficiency for fleet operators.

Cityflo to Expand Premium Bus Operations

Cityflo currently operates nearly 2,000 buses across multiple cities and plans to further expand its premium urban transit services through this partnership.

Founded in 2015, Cityflo operates premium buses on fixed routes connecting high-density residential and office areas. The company serves nearly 18 million rides annually across cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

The company currently operates more than 1,200 buses focused on providing comfortable and convenient transportation for corporate professionals.

Companies Speak on the Collaboration

B Srinivas, MD and CEO of VECV, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to transforming urban commuting through reliable, comfortable, and efficient mobility solutions at scale.

He added that the partnership combines Eicher’s advanced buses and service network with Cityflo’s commuter-focused approach to deliver predictable, convenient, and sustainable transport solutions. According to him, the collaboration also supports the Government’s vision of reducing city congestion and lowering fuel imports by encouraging greater use of public transport.

Rishabh Shah, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of Cityflo, said the partnership with Eicher Trucks and Buses began in 2024 when both companies worked together to develop the right bus configuration for city commutes.

He stated that this collaboration led to the creation of a new 27-seater bus specifically designed for urban roads and aligned with Cityflo’s service standards. Shah added that the company is excited to continue expanding the partnership as operations scale further.

Service Support and Fleet Reliability Key Areas

The collaboration will also focus on maintaining high uptime, lower total cost of ownership, and strong operational reliability for fleet operators.

Eicher Trucks and Buses will provide dedicated service support, maintenance planning aligned with peak-hour operations, and a strong spare parts ecosystem. The companies will also work together to create city-specific transport solutions based on passenger requirements.

A major highlight of the partnership is the co-development of bus configurations to meet Cityflo’s operational demands. These include better ride comfort, improved seating layouts, enhanced AC systems, and lower NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels.

Supporting Sustainable Public Transport

The partnership supports India’s growing focus on sustainable urban transportation. By encouraging commuters to shift from private vehicles to premium public transport, the companies aim to reduce traffic congestion and improve fuel efficiency in cities.

The collaboration will also support the adoption of cleaner mobility technologies through increased use of CNG buses and the gradual expansion of electric buses as the ecosystem develops further.
