Chartered Speed deployed 71 electric buses across eight Rajasthan cities.
EVs now make up around 25% of its 2,000+ bus fleet.
Rajasthan expansion is backed by an order for 800+ buses.
A 22 MW charging backbone will support the electric fleet.
Expansion is expected to create more than 1,500 direct jobs.
Chartered Speed Limited has expanded its electric bus operations across Rajasthan, deploying e-buses in all eight primary urban centres under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme. The rollout covers Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bhilwara and Alwar, strengthening the company’s presence in electric mass transportation.
The company currently operates more than 2,000 buses across India and serves over 3.5 lakh passengers every day through multiple mobility segments. With the Rajasthan expansion, electric vehicles now account for around 25% of its nationwide operating fleet, compared with approximately 10% earlier.
As part of the latest rollout, Chartered Speed has deployed a total of 71 electric buses across the eight cities. Of these, 24 e-buses have started operations in Jaipur and Bhilwara, while another 47 buses are operating across Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota, Alwar, Ajmer and Jodhpur.
The company said the deployment provides electric bus coverage across Rajasthan’s eight primary urban nodes and forms part of its electric mass-transit operations under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme.
The Rajasthan expansion is supported by an earlier order for more than 800 buses. According to Chartered Speed’s Whole-Time Director Sanyam Gandhi, the larger expansion involves more than 800 electric buses along with a 22 MW charging backbone.
The company said its approach is focused on integrating electric buses into high-density transport corridors while developing the charging infrastructure required to support large-scale electric mobility operations.
The Rajasthan deployment has helped Chartered Speed significantly increase the proportion of electric vehicles in its overall fleet. EVs now make up approximately 25% of its more than 2,000-bus nationwide operating fleet, up from around 10% previously.
The expansion reflects the company’s wider focus on electric public transportation and the growing adoption of zero-emission buses in urban mobility.
Chartered Speed said the Rajasthan scale-up will also generate more than 1,500 direct skilled jobs. Employment opportunities will be created across areas including telemetry, fleet management, technical maintenance and driving operations.
The company’s expansion is therefore expected to support both cleaner public transportation and employment opportunities linked to electric mobility.
Established in 2010, Chartered Speed operates intercity and intra-city transportation services across six states. Its business activities cover public transportation, employee mobility, school transportation and electric mobility.
With more than 2,000 buses in operation and services reaching over 3.5 lakh passengers daily, the company is expanding its electric fleet as demand for sustainable mass transportation continues to grow.

Chartered Speed’s expansion across Rajasthan marks a significant step in its electric mobility strategy. The deployment of 71 e-buses across eight cities, supported by an order for more than 800 buses and a 22 MW charging backbone, strengthens the state’s electric public transport network. The expansion also raises Chartered Speed’s national EV fleet share to 25% and is expected to create over 1,500 direct skilled jobs across key operational areas.
