CASE aims to double its India construction equipment revenue by 2030
CASE Construction Equipment India has announced an ambitious expansion plan for its manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, aiming to increase annual production to more than 10,000 machines within the next couple of years. The company has made it clear that CNH Industrial's ongoing search for a strategic partner for its global construction equipment business will not impact its investment plans or operations in India.
The Pithampur plant produced around 7,500-8,000 machines last year. However, CASE is now investing in additional capacity, expanding production and introducing new product lines to meet growing domestic and export demand. The company believes India remains one of its most important growth markets and is accelerating investments accordingly.
CNH Industrial, the parent company of CASE Construction Equipment and New Holland, recently informed investors during its first-quarter 2026 earnings call that it is no longer pursuing a complete spin-off of its construction equipment business. Instead, the company is exploring a strategic partnership, raising concerns about whether investments in key markets such as India could slow down.
Responding to these concerns, Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director of CASE Construction Equipment India and SAARC, said customers focus on products and services rather than corporate ownership structures. According to him, changes at the corporate level do not affect business operations on the ground.
He also referred to CASE India's earlier transition from the L&T-CASE joint venture to full ownership by CNH in 2011, stating that the change had no impact on products, services or customer support. He emphasized that the company is continuing with its expansion plans and is, in fact, investing even more aggressively because of the strong opportunities available in the Indian market.
CASE India's growth strategy is based on two major areas. The first is strengthening production in its established product segments, including backhoe loaders and vibratory compactors, where the company says it continued to gain market share despite the overall industry slowdown during the previous financial year.
The second growth driver is the localization of additional construction equipment models that are currently not manufactured in India. These include skid steer loaders, compact track loaders and more excavator variants. Producing these machines locally will allow the Pithampur facility to expand into heavier equipment categories while supporting the company's long-term manufacturing strategy.
The ongoing investments will also increase production capacity and make Pithampur an even more important manufacturing hub for both domestic and international markets.
Exports remain a key part of CASE India's business. Nearly 50% of the machines produced at the Pithampur plant are shipped to international markets. While this export share has remained stable, the company says the actual number of exported machines continues to increase.
Exports to the United States experienced a temporary pause due to uncertainty surrounding changing import tariffs, with duties fluctuating between zero, 25%, 50% and recently moving towards a possible 12%. Despite these changes, the US represents only a small portion of the plant's overall export business, and total exports from Pithampur still recorded growth during the previous year.
The company also highlighted that India's overall construction equipment exports increased by 32% during the last financial year, reflecting rising global demand for equipment manufactured in the country.
CASE Construction Equipment India generated approximately ₹2,700–2,800 crore in construction equipment revenue during FY25, forming a significant part of CNH India's overall business, which is valued at around $1 billion (approximately ₹9,570 crore).
The company now expects its India construction equipment revenue to double by 2030. This growth will be supported by higher production, expanded manufacturing capacity, localization of new products and continued investments at the Pithampur facility.
According to Chaturvedi, all planned investments, new product introductions and capacity expansion will continue at Pithampur regardless of any future changes in CNH's global corporate structure.
CASE India is expected to announce its FY26 India financial performance in early August after the company exits its earnings blackout period.

CASE Construction Equipment India is moving ahead with an aggressive growth strategy by expanding production at its Pithampur plant beyond 10,000 units annually. Backed by fresh investments, new localized product lines and strong export demand, the company remains confident of doubling its India construction equipment revenue by 2030. Management has also reassured customers and stakeholders that CNH Industrial's global partnership discussions will not affect operations, manufacturing expansion or future investments in India.
