Key Highlights:

  • BEM secures $50M funding.

  • $30M from Nikhil Kamath, Omnitex.

  • 10,000 trucks annual capacity.

  • 60M km, 15,000 tonnes CO₂ saved.

  • Essar and FPT provide tech support.

Blue Energy Motors (BEM), a Mumbai-based manufacturer of LNG and electric heavy-duty trucks, has successfully secured $50 million in funding to expand its green trucking operations across India. The company raised $30 million in its latest round from prominent investors Nikhil Kamath and Omnitex Industries.

Expanding Truck Production and Green Technology

BEM currently has the capacity to manufacture 10,000 trucks annually. With this new funding, the company plans to fully unlock this capacity and speed up the production of LNG and electric trucks. This step will make green freight solutions more accessible to Indian businesses and logistics providers.

The company also benefits from strong backing from Essar and FPT (Iveco Group), which not only invest financially but also provide technology support. This partnership strengthens BEM’s position in the rapidly growing green transport industry.

Proven Sustainability Impact

Blue Energy Motors is already the largest LNG truck maker in India. The company has sold nearly 1,000 trucks, many of which are being used by Fortune 500 companies. Collectively, these trucks have clocked more than 60 million kilometres and reduced over 15,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.

India’s transport sector accounts for nearly 15% of the country’s total carbon emissions. By offering LNG and electric trucks, BEM is helping reduce pollution while promoting cleaner, sustainable freight transport.

Investor Confidence in Green Mobility

Commenting on the funding, Anirudh Bhuwalka, Founder and MD of BEM, said, “The investment will help accelerate India’s shift toward sustainable freight transport.”

He also emphasized that the company is committed to offering green solutions that are commercially viable.

Investor Nikhil Kamath highlighted the importance of scalable clean technology for India’s logistics sector, while Anshuman Ruia of Essar reaffirmed their strong support for India’s clean energy transformation.

Driving India Toward Cleaner Transport

With fresh funding, strong partners, and proven results, Blue Energy Motors is well-positioned to transform India’s trucking industry. The company aims to reduce emissions further and make green freight transport the preferred choice for businesses across the country.
