Billion Electric Mobility Secures Over 250 Contracts for Electric Truck Deployment Across India

Key Highlights:

  • BillionE signed over 250 long-term deals to deploy electric trucks with major companies across India.
  • The trucks range from 12 to 55 tonnes and are being used in sectors like e-commerce, cement, pharma, and logistics.
  • Operations have started in 16 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
  • The company aims to expand its fleet from 60 to 250 electric trucks by 2026 and to 5,000 by 2029.
  • The Government’s PM E-DRIVE scheme will support the industry with a ₹500 crore subsidy for around 5,500 electric trucks.

In a big step toward cleaner freight movement, Billion Electric Mobility (BillionE), a tech-based electric mobility-as-a-service platform, has locked in over 250 long-term contracts for the deployment of electric trucks. These deals mark a major push toward the use of zero-emission trucks in India's commercial logistics.

Electric Trucks Across Major Industries

The contracts signed by BillionE cover a wide range of medium and heavy-duty electric trucks, with gross vehicle weights (GVW) ranging from 12 to 55 tonnes. These vehicles will be used across various sectors such as:

  • E-commerce
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Cement
  • Copper and steel
  • FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods)
  • Automotive
  • Logistics

Active in 16 Indian Cities

BillionE has started operations across 16 major cities in South, West, and North India. These cities include:

  • Delhi
  • Mumbai
  • Bengaluru
  • Chennai
  • Hyderabad
  • Pune
  • Ahmedabad
  • Jaipur

The company is focusing on regions with busy freight corridors and high pollution levels, aligning with national goals for reducing emissions.

PM E-DRIVE Scheme Boosts the Sector

The news of these deals comes just as the Ministry of Heavy Industries officially launched the PM E-DRIVE scheme (Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement). This scheme is India’s first major national-level incentive targeted specifically at electric trucks.

Under the scheme:

  • ₹500 crore has been allocated
  • Around 5,500 electric trucks are expected to benefit
  • Each truck could receive subsidies of up to ₹9.6 lakh, depending on battery size

This initiative is expected to bridge critical policy gaps and make electric trucks more cost-effective for fleet operators.

BillionE’s Growth Plans

Currently, BillionE has over 60 electric heavy-duty trucks in operation. It plans to:

  • Scale this number to 250 trucks by early 2026
  • Deploy 5,000 electric trucks by 2029

The company's contracts aren’t just about trucks. They also include end-to-end services like:

  • Charging infrastructure
  • Route and load planning
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Performance support

This approach is designed to give businesses a hassle-free shift to electric fleets.

Charging Infrastructure via CHARGE ZONE

BillionE’s network is supported by its affiliated company, CHARGE ZONE, which builds and operates high-power EV charging stations. These have been installed along key freight routes like:

  • Mumbai–Delhi
  • Delhi–Bengaluru
  • Coimbatore–Visakhapatnam

This charging backbone helps ensure minimal downtime for electric trucks and encourages faster adoption.

Backed by Investors and Expansion Funding

Earlier this year, BillionE raised $10 million in seed equity and debt. The company is now:

  • Raising $15 million through a Pre-Series A round
  • Planning a $100 million Series A round by the end of 2025

These funds will help the company scale operations, add more vehicles, and expand its tech infrastructure.

A Vision for Zero-Emission Transport

BillionE was co-founded by Kartikey Hariyani, who also leads CHARGE ZONE as CEO. With a tech-first mindset, the company is positioning itself as a one-stop platform for zero-emission commercial transport in India. By integrating trucks, charging, planning, and after-sales support, BillionE wants to make electric freight mainstream in India.

CMV360 Says

BillionE getting over 250 deals for electric trucks shows that companies are now ready to go green. With fuel getting expensive and pollution rules getting stricter, electric trucks are a smart and affordable option. The government’s PM E-DRIVE scheme is also helping by giving big subsidies. If charging stations keep growing and more people join in, electric trucks could soon become a regular part of daily transport in India.
