Ashok Leyland, part of the Hinduja Group, has received defence orders worth over ₹700 crore to supply specialized military vehicles to the Indian Armed Forces. Deliveries are expected to begin in the next financial year. The orders include vehicles like the Stallion 4x4, Stallion 6x6, Short Chassis Bus, and Mobility System Travelling Platform. These vehicles are designed to meet the Indian military's needs for troop transportation, logistics, and mobility under the Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS) program.
Ashok Leyland has been the largest supplier of logistics vehicles to the Indian Army, offering platforms ranging from 4x4 to 12x12 configurations. The company has developed specialized capabilities to meet military-specific requirements, including the production of armored vehicles. The vehicles are built to perform in challenging terrains while ensuring reliability for various operational needs of the armed forces.
